For property owners here who are also against gas mowers but need an alternative for cutting their grass, outside of non-motorized push mowers like the one I linked in the first page of this thread I will also recommend electric push-mowers. I used one on a weekly basis years ago when mowing my grandmothers lawn and based on my experience they are perfect for small lawns. Somewhat quieter than gas mowers and best of all, no need to worry about extra carbon emissions! The only thing you need to worry about when using them is not running over the extension cord.

 Fucking beautiful, man. Balder , you are a real American. Damn, Cobretti called it before even I noticed it! Balder would be right at home in the United States, it's official. On the subject of lawnmowers, I browsed my local Farm and Fleet's inventory of lawnmowers today out of curiosity, and the smallest cc engine push-mower they had was 125cc (over twice the size of my 50cc moped); the smallest rideable gas mower was 345cc, which is almost the size of a Fiat 500cc's engine. Fellow american board members, if you are a property owner, please oh PLEASE for the sake of our planet use an electric push mower or a non-motorized push mower in place of a gas lawnmower. It would slow climate change a lot in the long run. Take one for the team, guys. |

It's that time of year again. The GROWING season.
Youtube recommended me this brief history on lawnmowing today:
Leave it to a brit to call out the insane BS associated with lawnmowing & the lawnmowing industry. I'm glad that Nevada recently banned certain types of grass to help conserve water. I hope the other Southwestern/western states are forced to follow. And now that the EV industry is phasing out gas engines, it's only a matter of time until all mowers are electric, which means less noise pollution and more importantly less emissions. Hooray.
My dream is for America to permanently outlaw pesticides, herbicides and fertilizers. Of course I have other agendas on my mind, too, such as heavy legal sanctions against private land owners, but I'll save that thought for another day.

Oh god you made me remember when I had to mow the lawn with a shitty underpowered electric mower. That thing had no power whatsoever and that stupid cord you had to worry about that would get wrapped around things as I was trying to mow the lawn was just so annoying. Went back to a gas mower after that and it did the job so much better and I never touched an electric mower again. Thankfully I don't mow the lawn anymore now its just as cheap to pay someone to do it instead of me sweating my ass off trying to mow it especially in the summer when its so hot and humid out.
