I think all of us on this forum are aware of the Coleco Chameleon scam and the dirty dealings of Mike Kennedy. I just watched this video:
I believe it was handled properly, but I find the imposter story crazy, to say the least.
Anyways, I was thinking that this could make for a great thread about imposters/fakers/scammers/etc. Share an insane story here to create an archive of interesting video game scamming history.

During my Super Nintendo gaming years I bought a fake NES with supposedly 500 games, probably from China, like those you often see displayed at the mall.
The controllers were trash, and I honestly don't even remember how the console used to look, but it was overall terrible. It made me wish I had a real NES instead, but at least I had my Super Nintendo.
There weren't 500 games, there were 30 at best, and then the exact same games were repeating over, and over again, just starting at different stages/levels.
The only good thing about it is that it had multiple copies of Battle City, Street Fighter 1, and Twin Bee, so I got to play those despite not having proper Western releases.
I really became a huge fan of Battle City, I wish I would still have it. It truly was an amazing massively fun game. I actually consider Tank! Tank! Tank! for the Wii U as a sequel, which is also by Namco.
It also had something resembling EarthBound from the Super Nintendo, but with NES graphics. The problem is that it wasn't translated, so I couldn't understand a thing.
I think it may also had Super Mario Bros. The Lost Levels, but it was just called Super Mario Bros. 2 instead.

I have no skin in this game, but this was entertaining to me. The amount of CSI like activity involved in this is fascinating.
If Karl Jobst does a video on you, you'd better hide.

And YouTube recommended me this small video to conclude the story today. I wonder if this story will continue in the future.
