If you think about it after they release Star Fox Zero, there will be only 3 games missing, a proper Zelda besides Hyrule Warriors, a proper F-Zero besides Fast Racing Neo, and maybe a proper Metroid.
Besides Mighty No. 9 and Bloodstained were both already announced for the sytem. So even if they don't release the proper Zelda, they already have one I'm OK with, so to me it is fine for then moving on because they already gave me everything I could ask from then because all their relevant IPs have been addressed already, even Wii Sports and Wii Party that were new for then.

stratogustav Expect Paper Mario Color Splash isn't a real Paper Mario game, so it doesn't count. As far as I'm concerned there are only 2 Paper Mario games in existence.

Oh yeah I forgot about Paper Mario, the only RPG game I always get. I never finish then, maybe I should stop buying then. I can tell they are good, just not my strong type of game.

I have still yet to get a Wii U. Then again, I don't have an Xbox One or PS4 either. I wonder if it's worth getting at some point before the next console just to have. I don't want to be "that guy" again and miss out on something like The Dreamcast after it's discontinued.

Wii U is kind of like the Dreamcast already. A very solid first party library that will become very pricey sooner than later. I would recommend jumping on the physical copies though. I already collected the Amiibos, so even that may be too much already for someone just getting in.

I think the NX might be either backwards compatible, or a bunch of games will be ported at least. Yes, Nintendo has been pretty good about retrocompatibility in their latest consoles. If their next console doesn't have touchscreen controllers, I think it's probable they'll make Wii U controllers compatible with it, as the Wii controllers are compatible with the Wii U. At least that's what I hope, since I'm not interested in the Wii U itself but am very interested in playing some of its games - if the NX is retrocompatible, then maybe that'll be my chance to play Bayonetta 2. |
