This week, I'd like to know what you guys think of the opening crawl from Revenge of the Sith:
Random question, I know, but I continue to be baffled by Lucas's unusual/enigmatic writing across the prequel films. And out of all the opening crawls, ROTS's is the weirdest by far. One line in particular has always puzzled me: "There are heroes on both sides. Evil is everywhere."
I never understood what this mean. I'm not even sure it's meant to have an objective meaning. I feel like it is open to interpretation. And recently, as an american citizen, I've begun making sense of it and have come to agree with it. Why? Because, as a global democrat and environmentalist, I side with neither american conservatives or american democrats, and now know that members of both parties are completely capable of being awful people.
How do you guys interpret this? Are there other parts of the opening crawl that intrigue you for one reason or another?
Please discuss.

Maybe it's in reference to the fact that Darth Sidious is on the good guys side, or is at least pretending to be, and Count Dooku is on the opposite side and tries to reveal Darth Sidious before he's killed? It's a weird line regardless.

It's a weird line regardless. Nah, Dooku died because of the Sith's Rule Of Two. He died because Anakin was going to replace him.

If you read my post carefully, this has nothing to do with how Dooku died or the rule of two.
