I'm not a big fan of these alternative knock offs for hardware; however, this looks incredibly interesting. It will play GB, GBC, and GBA games out of the box. Then there are going to be add ons for the Lynx, the Neo Geo Pocket Color, and the Game Gear.
I think I'm going to buy a knock off for the first time in my life.

Yeah, this one looks really solid. Their previous consoles are well reviewed, so they'll probably deliver a good product again.

They are making lots of cash and they are also building prestige since their products are known for the high-end quality.

Analogue makes good stuff, so while I won't be picking this up myself, I've no doubt they will be well worth the price tag. I look forward to GameSack reviewing them once they're out.

I haven't seen an alternative to this for portables. I really like this idea, because I never seriously got into portable gaming. This could be the way I could catch up on the great games I missed out on without buying worn out systems or through emulation.

stratogustav - Solid list, those are all great games! I'd only try to include Mega Man V and Shantae, especially since they are very rare and expensive nowadays. If they had to include a Pokémon game, I think Pokémon Yellow would be enough.

Okay i'm sold on this. I absolutely want one now. I want to get the lynx and game gear adapters but i'm still not certain about the neo geo pocket color add on. I picked up 4 lynx games a couple days ago and have no system to play them on.

Pre-ordering has started. The adapters aren't all that bad in price either. They're only $29.99. The link cables are $15.99.

One thing I'm pleased to see if that they've gone with the classic Game Boy shape, mainly for some of the gimmicky Wario Ware Twisted.
Twisted in particular was designed for a top-loading console, so if you're going with original hardware...it is either unplayable on a GBA SP with its bottom loading, or you're dealing with the original GBA's terrible screen. Granted, there are screen replacements and other 3rd party devices, but I'm glad Analog chose this option. I think it also benefits some of the other games like Boktai, where the light sensor on the cartridge is usable on an SP, but your own body can easily block the light.
The more I think about it, I think that if I were still into collecting hardware for pre-DS/PSP handhelds, this would be a must buy.

I didn't think of that, that's definitely a good point. A lot of Nintendo hardware works that way, and that's what makes the original hardware become the preferable way to play because of that reason.

I wasn't even thinking about getting the dock, but that thing will allow you to wirelessly hook up 4 controllers for multi-player! I wonder if they're going to get 8 player abilities for the Lynx. I'd love to play Todd's Adventure in Slime World with 7 other people.
