Yes, I've seen this, and it's because of you that I saw it. I think we discussed your avatar and you posted a clip of the scene where the main character takes himself hostage. I thought it was very funny and then watched the whole thing. Unfortunately I'm not a big fan of the rest of the movie. That scene you posted is the funniest scene in the whole movie, and the rest really isn't my kind of humor. I know people regard this as hilarious, but it really didn't grab me. I at least thought it was better than Airplane!, because that movie is awful. |

Found my review for it that I wrote in May this year:
"Eh... these old spoof movies are really overrated. I can see why people have fond memories of them, and why they love them, but they have a really hard time getting me to laugh. Blazing Saddles is far from being the worst spoof film, but it is not very great. It gets some chuckles from me here and there, but there also some scenes that are just super cringy, like the infamous farting scene. There is not a lot to say about it. It is hit or miss depending on if you find these movies funny or not. It is better than Airplane! at least." 2/5

The 70s had incredible movies like The Godfather movies, Star Wars, The Exorcist, Jaws, The Texas Chainsaw Massacre, Halloween, The Omen, Piranha, The Getaway, Enter The Dragon, Escape From Alcatraz, The French Connection, Taxi Driver, Mad Max, Superman, Alien, Rocky, etc..
I feel people forget this. When they start realizing how great the decade was for cinema, they can start appreciating many movies from that generation.
All you need to do is to put attention to really understand the movies, and you can get as much of enjoyment, and often even more enjoyment than you can get from many of the movies coming today.

I saw this movie last night. It's aged quite well. It's like something Matt Stone and Trey Parker would have made but more wholesome. Lots of parodying racist people in the first before it BTFO's out with the climatic fight breaking through into the other studios, where we also get that classic pie fight scene lol
