I own this on BD, but haven't watched it yet. It was released by Eureka Entertainment, which is a movie company like Criterion or Arrow. I'll buy anything they release if I can find them for an affordable price. Got this with a stack of other BDs I bought.

I think at some point I had several music DVDs with those publishing brands. The name of the movie sounds familiar, but I don't remember watching it.

Fright Night is a great movie that doesn't take itself seriously but isn't so silly that it's still a horror movie.
I love Roddy McDowall's role in it as a washed up horror movie star, unlike many this is the movie I think of with him and not Planet of the Apes.
Also, this is one of those movies where I actually do like the remake.

They tried to make Marcy D’arcy hot in this movie. Tried being the operative word. This was also the movie with Evil Ed and he was a dork.
5/5 excellent.

Got down to watch this as I already had it on Blu-Ray. Not the best horror movie I've ever watched, but it did the trick:
"While Fright Night is far from perfect, it does manage to find its niche by being an alright 80's cheesy horror movie. It has the effects of a great movie and the costumes look terrific, unfortunately the film drags on with a subpar script. I never gave a shit for any of the characters and the story is riddled with generic movie tropes that only succeeds to ruin the pacing. I do like the homages to old horror show hosts etc. It perfectly resembles what the 80's are all about, and I love that. There is a very solid horror movie under the garbage script writing, and I wish it trimmed the fat to give it to us. Cool, but not a classic. Maybe a cult classic though." 3/5
