Yeah I love arcade style games a ton, too. But there's something special about an arcade cab.

One I'm pretty sure only a handful of people (Including Mark) have heard of. Bosconian Most of the arcade cabinets were destroyed and replaced with Galaga cabinets, it sucks :C. Luckily enough I do own a couple of versions of it. BLAST OFF! Yes, this is an underrated game.

As a kid, Pole Position II was the coolest arcade game on the planet. I loved the cabinet in which you sat down, grabbed the steering wheel, and hit the accelerator pedal while shifting from low to hi gear. There was nothing cooler than that. When I ran out of tokens, I sometimes stayed in the seat and pretended to continue playing out of the sheer coolness of it all.
As I got older, I loved the multiplayer beat 'em ups in the 90s. TMNT, WWF Wrestlemania, and the Simpsons all have a special place in my heart. I loved getting my brothers and friends together to dominate a machine and play until we finished the game. Out of those three, I'd say TMNT was the coolest, but The Simpsons was the funniest. I would love to get a hold of those old machines, but sadly I don't have the space for them.

People said Polybius was awesome. I'd never seen one because they are rare. But I remember they showed it in The Simpsons.
It looks like Tempest.

Oh man, Polybius is still the best video game-related urban legend! dschult3 - When I was a kid (5 through 7), my father always took me to the arcade at my birthdays, and I always played at least one credit in The Simpsons arcade machine. I loved that game. I also remember being crazy about After Burner (it was one of those moving machines). Good times. As a teenager, the Capcom fighters (especially MvC and Darkstalkers) always grabbed my attention and were great to play, but my real favourites were the on-rails shooters, especially The House of the Dead, LA Machineguns, Area 51 and a few others. Too bad we don't have many of those shooters nowadays.

Too bad we don't have many of those shooters nowadays. We do, just not in the West. I wish the PS Move was more popular so we could had get more of the new ones. Time Crisis 5 just came out last year and we don't have a chance to play it because of that.

Since I'm a big sim racing fan my favorite arcade machine has to be the Ferrari F355 Challenge cabinet, the triple screen version.

stratogustav - I didn't even knew about it! Time Crisis is such a fun series, I have great memories of playing it at local arcades. I thought on-rails shooters would have a resurgence on consoles after the Wii/PS Move/Kinect releases, as we got some new ones (a new House of the Dead, Child of Eden, Sin & Punishment 2 and a few others), but as soon as the motion controllers fad stopped, these games disappeared again.

I never did end up getting a move, I still should. I do have some cool shooters on Wii though like the House of the Dead and Resident Evil ones and Ghost Squad.

It is a serious shame that happened. The Time Crisis Razing Storn bundle with Deadstorm Pirates and Time Crisis 4 was so awesome, and promising, if we could only got all the other ones before it went away.

Alien vs. Predator, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. I prefer multiplayer beatemups over most other types of games.

Alien vs. Predator is a lot of fun, glad I was finally able to play that last year(or maybe it was 2014). I'm glad I discovered Galloping Ghost because I hate trying to use MAME. I've gotten it to work for a few games but overall it's a headache for me.

I've been looking at this topic since I first registered here in the new forums, but that's it. ... Yeah, I just can't decide. I can't pick one game and say it's my favorite. Like, take Vampire Savior and Cotton 2: I love both, but I have no hopes of comparing them or being able to tell which is more favorite.
