Where the hell did you find this, scipioafricanus ? The title sounds like a pre-Master System arcade release. Whatever, now we got our first entry underthe letter 'Z' in the movie vault. This week, it's something called... ...whatever that is. Chosen by: scipioafricanusStarring: Sean '007' Connery, Charlotte Rampling, Sara Kestelman, John Alderton Year: 1974 Directed by: John Boorman Written by: John Boorman Produced by: John Boorman, Charles Orme

Shouldn't we start to discuss some Christmas movies now?

Haven't seen it but it's just too weird for my taste. Looks like a combination of Planet of the Apes, Flash Gordon and Return To OZ all rolled into one movie.

SO this movie is bad and weird.
So it is perfect for us.
Watch Sean Connery run around in his under-roos is "intersting."

Looks like I'd have some fun watching this. Shame it's not streaming anywhere. Only rentals.

One thing I have to say about it right off the bat is I really did that promo poster. I miss the age when most movie poster were fantasy paintings and life drawings/studies. Actually, I wish I could say that, but in actuality that trend died out before I was even born. At least a few movies from my time (like the SW prequels) carried on the tradition of having hand-painted posters. As for this film itself, I hadn't heard of it until now and have no intention to watch it.

scipioafricanus, I think I saw some of this because of you. Your taste in art always perplexes me...
My memory of this film is fuzzy, so please bear with me. This movie has quite the interesting story, but it fails win over the hearts of many people, because the director was far too in love with his own work. It comes off as trippy pretentiousness. Hollywood is always obsessed with itself, and this movie doesn't fail with its tie into The Wizard of Oz. I also don't understand why many arm chair psychologists believe that having the opportunity to live forever automatically means that you will grow bored with life. The god like beings (whatever their names were...it doesn't matter) don't attempt to travel the universe or colonize other planets. Instead, they're happy with being the overlords of the mortals and making bread.
John Boorman created classics like Excalibur, Hell in the Pacific, and Point Blank. I don't know what the hell this is.

You look at those, and you think they are old movies, but they are new movies. I think it looks rad.

Now I really want to see this movie. It does look like a Sega Master System or NES game, with the premises of something like Death Stranding. Pretty cool stuff.

I remember seeing this 3 years ago. This has spoilers, in case anybody cares. I think it's good for anybody who wants to know about the movie, but they don't want to watch the movie.
