Since there are already threads for PC exclusive and arcade exclusive games that have never been re-released either physically or digitally, I figure it's only appropriate to discuss all the great console exclusives that have never made it to digital stores. I can think of a ton of great console exclusives that for whatever reason have unfortunately never been digitally re-released, like: -SUPER SMASH BROS MELEE. The best-selling Gamecube game ad one of the most challenging and revered competitive fighting games of all time still has yet to make it to digital stores. This is a crime against gaming history and Nintendo should be ashamed of themselves. -Mischief Makers. Many classic Treasure titles have found their way to digital stores over the years, but never Mischief Makers! WHY NOT?!? I still kick myself on a daily basis for selling my only copy of the game years ago and wish that there was a way I could play it again, since it has some of the most vibrant, colorful and imaginative visuals of any 5th gen 2D platformer. -Bomberman 64 and Bomberman 64: The Second Attack. Both these games, ESPECIALLY the latter, have every reason to be brought to digital stores. They were among the more interesting entries in the Bomberman franchise. -Saturn Bomberman and Saturn Bomberman: Fight!!, two more Bomberman titles that remain unavailable digitally. -Astal. Another Saturn gem that featured among the prettiest visuals for a 2D game of its time. Even though the gameplay was straightforward and it didn't have much replay value, I would love to re-experience it, as I sold all of my Saturn games many years ago.  (when I think of more titles I will add them) |

Oh yes, the list for this is massive, but a lot of people don't feel that way because of how spread is emulation nowadays.
I personally didn't change my mind until I started getting all these mini classic consoles, and that's when I realized how accessible many games still are, but with all the lawsuits we don't know how much this heaven will last.

Oh yes, the list for this is massive, How could you say this and not have a mile long list for us? For off the top of my head are also a few Nintendo games. I would like to a HD remaster pack of Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance and Radiant Dawn. Both of these games are quite expensive(especially Radiance) and Fire Emblem is much more popular now when those two games were originally released. Pretty sure it would sell well. Another is Super Mario Sunshine but that might be hard since most of the Switch controllers do not have analog triggers. (and only being to sell it to those with Gamecube controllers might not be worth it to them) Also Saturn has many 'impossible to find for a fair price' games that would be great to see a release. Panzer Dragoon Saga Shinobi LEgions Shining the Holy Ark/Force 3(the other scenarios in english would be great also) Dragon Force |

Yeah, I feel your disappointment. Especially since Hero was the least Bomberman-like in regards to gameplay, being basically a 3D platformer with Bomberman characters and aesthetics. |

in a way I love that a lot of games aren't being re-released on other consoles because it makes the console the games were originally released for irrelevant such as the saturn because most games that made the console great have been re-released on other consoles even with upgrades. But on the other hand I think it's great and think all games ever made should be re-released on newer consoles because the original games are just way to expensive for most to have access to such as Neo Geo games and even some Dreamcast and Saturn games that go for ridiculous amounts of money.
I for one have never played Panzer Dragoon Saga because of the price range although the Saturn is one of my favourite consoles of all time and I love the Panzer Dragoon series.
I loved it when they released Ikaruga for the Xbox live for just a few bucks when the original Dreamcast game went for at least a hundred.

I think Ikaruga is better than a lot of the most expensive and sought after Shmups for the Dreamcast. It is very unique indeed, but other shoot 'em ups on the system have their thing too though. I personally think Mars Matrix is a fantastic game. What happens is that even within shoot 'em ups, there are many subgenres, and that variety makes them hard to compare between each other, but I would still put Ikaruga on top of most shoot 'em ups in general. I personally like Gradius V more though; because that system Konami built in combination of what Treasure does, is simply pure gold. |

From what I understand, aren't the Sega CD and 32X also not retrocompatible because of their weird architecture? Isn't that the reason why many Sega CD titles and 32X games like Knuckles Chaotix have never been ported? And since I'm not currently into emulation, I might also ask: do you know if Sega CD and 32X emulators exist at the moment? |

Hell, even Shenmue was still an exclusive until last year - for around 20 years, it was only on the Dreamcast, which is insane for such an integral part of gaming's history.

Hell, even Shenmue was still an exclusive until last year - for around 20 years, it was only on the Dreamcast, which is insane for such an integral part of gaming's history. Yeah, I totally know this to be true, since Sega didn't re-release my favorite beat-em-up of all time, Streets of Rage 3, until the 7th gen when they finally brought it to the Wii's virtual console service (RIP) in 2007 (I think?), and then later added it to Sonic's Ultimate Genesis Collection in 2008, which is how I first played it. Crazy it took them over a decade to rerelease a high-profile genesis game that should've been included in their previous compilations of games. The japanese version of Sonic Gems Collection for the GC actually did include SoR 3 as a unlockable bonus title, but not the western versions. Very frustrating. Speaking about Sega, I have another title to add to my list: -the Dreamcast version of Sonic Adventure. I don't understand why Sega has only ever rereleased the GC remaster, Sonic Adventure DX, since literally everyone I have talked to has said that the original DC version is the definitive version of the game. From what I understand, all the digital rereleases of the game are the DX gamecube port. Why? Wouldn't mind giving the game another shot but I'm not interested in paying for an inferior port of it. |
