Not as good as the original but close. Still one of the best sequels to a movie and like the first movie, a Christmas classic.

Can't go wrong with a movie that has a future President in it.

They actually cut his scene in Canada, after he got elected.

I really like this movie. I actually remember the Trump scene from before he was even considering politics.
What a great sequel. It is really hard to make great sequels, specially when the first none is already good.
They are so good it makes you wish the cast would still look like that so we could get more movies.
When I was a kid I really loved the comics of Dennis The Menace on the newspapers, and to me this was the perfect representation of those comics.

centipede, you should remember to sticky these weekly threads. I didn't even know we were discussing this movie until now. Anyways, I rewatched this movie just a couple of weeks ago, and here's what I thought of it: "Home Alone 2 is definitely a worthy sequel to the original despite rehashing a lot of the elements. It does take a new setting of life alone in the big city, and the setting of a luxurious hotel is a very fun one that is utilized to its fullest. It is funny seeing Rob Schneider as this young guy working as a hotel piccolo being messed with a kid with a stolen credit card. The Wet Bandits are back as their reformed selves, The Sticky Bandits. Even though these guys do not do anything differently than what they did in the previous movie, they are a welcomed return as they truly are the spirit of these movies. Their encounters with Kevin at the renovated house block is the best part of the movie for me. It has that timeless almost Tom & Jerry feel to it. I laugh my ass off at some of those moments. Macaulay Culkin is a sweet kid, and I love him in these movies. He might not be the best kid actor ever, but the magic he brings to the screen is enough for me. Great movie, but I do think the original is better. Still a very worthy sequel, which is not something I can say about the other sequels." 3.5/5

They actually cut his scene in Canada, after he got elected. I heard about this the other day. They didn't cut it on Disney+ where I watched it recently. (guess they were removed because of previous agreements, glad they stayed on until Christmas so I could watch them) Agreed that it's not quite as good as the first movie and rehashes quite a bit, but it also has Tim Curry which is a bonus. Enjoyed it a lot.
