PS3 games feel relatively new to me because I was collecting the biggest chunk of them around 2014/2015. I stopped gaming around 2004/2005, and the PS3 reintroduced me to gaming love with Classic Game Room.
I think I have like 40 main fighters on it, and probably around another 40 classic fighters on the system. So the whole platform feels like a fighting machine for me.
That is one of the reasons I use it as the brains for my MK9 arcade cabinet, and it is totally worth it.
I only wish other fighting games were also released on it that weren't, such as Melty Blood, Daemon Bride, Blade Arcus, and Phantom Breaker that are missing from the Western catalog.
However we got a lot of good ones in North America like Aquapazza, Nitroplus Blasterz, Chaos Code, Dengeki Bunko, Battle Fantasia, Arcana Heart, Under Night In-Birth, Persona 4 Arena, BlazBlue, Guilty Gear, The King Of Fighters, etc..
It would have been nice if Dragon Ball FighterZ was ported too. The PS3 handles Xrd -Rev2-, and Exe:Late[st], very well; so Dragon Ball FighterZ was definitely doable.
I also love all the light gun games for the system like Time Crisis 4, Time Crisis Razing Storm, Deadstorm Pirates, Resident Evil The Umbrella Chronicles, Resident Evil The Darkside Chronicles, The House Of The Dead III, The House Of The Dead Overkill, The House Of The Dead Overkill.
Sports Champions 2 is one of my favorite games ever too, many of those PlayStation Move games were actually a lot of fun like the Start The Party! games, The Shoot, Carnival Island, Top Darts, The Fight Lights Out, Foosball 2012, Move Fitness, and Ape Escape.
On top there are many excellent racers in the system like Gran Turismo, F1, Dirt, Grid, Daytona USA, GTI Club, and Sega Rally.
In terms of shmups it is definitely lacking in comparison with the amazing shmup library of the Xbox 360, but at least it has some, like Sine Mora, Söldner X, Söldner X-2, R-Type Dimensions, Raiden IV Overkill, Resogun, Super Stardust, 1942 Joint Strike, and some other classic ones like Soldier Blade, and Super Star Soldier.
I also enjoy many other great arcade games I love like Pac-Man Championship Edition DX+, Galaga Legions DX, Space Invaders Infinity Gene, Frogger Hyper Arcade Edition, Tetris (EA), Virtua Tennis 4, Zen Pinball 2, Capcom Arcade Cabinet, X-Men, Final Fight Double Impact, Super Puzzle Fighter II Turbo, Elevator Action Deluxe, Chronicles Of Mystara, Rocksmith 2014, and Catherine.
Not to mention all the cool platformers like Castlevania Harmony Of Despair, Bionic Commando Rearmed, Bionic Commando Rearmed 2, Mega Man 9, Mega Man 10, Contra Hard Corps, Strider, Moon Diver, Lara Croft, and Thexder Neo.
For single player games the options are excellent too:
- Ninja Gaiden Sigma
- Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2
- Ninja Gaiden 3 Razor's Edge
- Devil May Cry 4
- Bayonetta
- Metal Gear Rising
- Drakengard 3
- Lollipop Chainsaw
- Killer Is Dead
- Shadows Of The Damned
- Transformer Devastation
- Vanquish
- Demon's Souls
..., and other good ones like Tomb Raider, Deadpool, Max Payne 3, Red Dead Redemption, Grand Theft Auto V, L.A. Noire, Heavy Rain, and the Dead Space games.
Another thing I like a lot about the PS3 is that they ported my favorite PS2 games on it:
- Castlevania Lament Of Innocence
- Gradius V
- Contra Shattered Soldier
- Capcom Vs. SNK 2
- Neo Contra
- Silent Hill 2

- Siren
- Siren 2 Forbidden
- Resident Evil 4
- Zone Of The Enders
- Zone Of The Enders The 2nd Runner

On top of that I was able to get many of my favorite SNK games through the Japanese PSN store like:

- Fatal Fury Battle Archives Vol. 2
- Fu'un Super Combo
- Garou Mark Of The Wolves

- Echo Night Beyond
- Kuon
- Haunting Ground
- Killer 7
- Gran Turismo 3 A-Spec
- Gran Turismo 4
- Tekken 4
- SoulCalibur III
- Virtua Fighter 4
It definitely would have been nice to get those too. However I was able to get a bunch of Dreamcast games I love:
- Crazy Taxi
- Daytona USA
- Jet Set Radio
- Marvel Vs. Capcom 2
- Resident Evil Code Veronica
- Sega Bass Fishing
- Sonic Adventure
- Sonic Adventure 2
- Space Channel 5 Part 2
- Street Fighter III 3rd Strike
- Under Defeat
..., and that's without counting all the great PS1 Classics I was able to get from the North America Store, and the Japanese store as well, which are mostly Mega Man games, Castlevania games, a bunch of shmups, and a bunch of fighters, but those are the type of games I love.
So in general my PS3 digital collection is something I cherish. The system is simply a lot of fun.
