This week, I would like to share the story of Ray Vaughan.
He was an environmental lawyer who in the 90s saved the critically endangered Alabama Sturgeon from extinction by taking the (then) crooked US Fish and Wildlife Service to court and suing them for blocking proposed government plans to protect the species thru establishing a protected aquatic reserve for the extremely rare fish as well as placing the species on the US Endangered Species List, thus legally prohibiting it's capture, culling, or collection of its roe.
