The Wii? Are you kidding? Have you seen the Virtual Console? It's insane the amount of goodies there. Also the first party library is really good too. Not to mention all those arcade games from third parties. The GameCube backwards compatibility, having a blast in your parties, an excuse to bring girls to your place from the bar, and the Classic controller for it was decent too, better than the Wii U Pro controller in my opinion. No wonder it was the best selling console of that generation by far. I still buy games for it, and the system is not even on HD, it's that good.

I know what you mean about the "Wii", but to be honest they also need an excuse to have an opportunity to play with the "Wii" without having to ask for the "Wii" directly.
So providing then with the idea that she is just accepting to go play with your Wii gives then the opportunity to actually play with your "Wii", obviously they know the idea is just an excuse to actually play with your "Wii", but that way it feels more casual, even though it really end ups hardcore.
Sadly the Wii is not as popular as it use to be, but the "Wii" will always be popular to girls, thankfully VR is now here to make the excuse.

Back to the question: I really hate the N64 controller, it's probably the worst controller on a successful console, the Gamecube just hasn't anything interesting. The Wii on the the other hand has a really fun Super Smash Bros game, Mario Kart and that bloody game that I'm forgetting what was named... And it plays Gamecube if that's interesting. The Wii Pro controller is the best controller that ever came out of Nintendo even though it's a shameless rip off of the Xbox 360 controller. I'm biased on this, so I'm probably wrong. |

Ahh, well Balder I can see where you're coming from. The N64 controller is easily one of the most ill-conceived, outdated pieces of junk that Nintendo has ever produced, so I agree with you there. And even though I despise the Wii with a burning passion for being a gimmicky piece of casualized goat shit, I do admit that it has some great exclusives here and there (Fire Emblem Radiant Dawn being my absolute favorite). Though I disagree with you on Brawl. I thought it stunk! In my eyes, Brawl is only good for Project M. And yeah, I do tend to disappear rather frequently for somewhat long periods of time. But don't worry, I'm not leaving these forums.  |

The tripping "mechanic" was absolutely unforgivable and infuriated me. It's the most insulting game "mechanic" I know of. And even aside from the tripping, it's hard to go back to playing such a simplistic SSB game after having mastered Melee and Smash 64. Melee especially gives you so much more control and flexibility over everything you can do. So yeah, I find Brawl to be more frustrating than fun, despite its sheer variety. |
