Seeing as how the PS2 is easily one of the greatest consoles ever for exclusives, It's time I ask: what are your favorite PS2 exclusives?
Here are mine (in no order):
-Smuggler's Run -Maximo Ghosts to Glory -Jak and Daxter The Precursor Legacy -Tekken Tag Tournament
HONORABLE MENTION: Cold Winter
NOTE: As I only have less than a dozen PS2 games in my collection and have only played about two dozen in total, there are obviously an enormous number of PS2 exclusives that I have yet to experience.

Those are the only "exclusive" ones I can remember, but I'm sure there were many more. The PS2 was just part of the golden age. You can't go wrong there.
There were many games that weren't exclusive that were great too like:
- Capcom Vs. SNK 2 - Garou Mark Of The Wolves - Gradius III & IV - Killer 7 - KOF 2000 - KOF 2001 - KOF 2002 - KOF 2003 - Marvel Vs. Capcom 2 - Metal Slug 4 & 5 - Mortal Kombat V Deadly Alliance - Mortal Kombat Deception - Mortal Kombat Armageddon - Resident Evil 4 - Samurai Shodown V - SoulCalibur II - Street Fighter III 3rd Strike - Twinkle Star Sprites La Petite Princess
... and many others. Some released only on Japan, others through collections.
I would say, even if you just put the ones I listed here into a plug & play along with all the Metal Gear Solid games, and the Rockstar titles, then you got yourself something very special.

stratogustav - A few of those weren't exclusive, though: Onimusha, Fatal Frame 1&2 and Silent Hill 2 were also released on the Xbox. Still: it's a great list, very representative of what the PS2 has to offer. As for myself, I would say ICO, Shadow of the Colossus, God Hand, Virtua Fighter 4 Evolution and Devil May Cry, those are the PS2 games that immediatelly come to my mind. If we are talking about games that are *still* exclusives and weren't ported to other systems, then God Hand and VF4 are still in that category.

Yeah, I figured I was going to make some mistakes in that list in regards with the original Xbox. I'm mostly familiar with the GameCube, and the Dreamcast libraries, but not very much with the original Xbox, although I know it had some good gems too, like Steel Battalion. What a great generation that was, truly the golden age in terms of proliferation of titles. It also was the last time we saw games releasing complete, in physical form, with box art for all, and without patches, updates, add-ons, DLC, season passes, loot boxes, or micro-transactions.

Great thread
Final Fantasy X:
The last of the great Final Fantasies IMO. The visuals, soundtrack, characters and story blew me away when it was first released.
Fantavision
Simple but very fun and addictive. One of my favourite puzzle games ever. Has some great visuals.
Ridge Racer V
This was a step down from the previous game but so was every other game that came after it. still one of my favourite racers of that era and probably of all time.
Shadow of the Colossus:
Needs no introduction. More of an art piece than an actual game. One of the reatest games ever created.
Yakuza 1 & 2
The Dreamcast may of had Shenmue but the Ps2 had Yakuza. I was blown away when this was announced. As a huge shenmue fan, these games really filled that void and in a way are better than the shenmue games.
Neo Geo Battle Coliseum
I loved this game in the Arcades and spent many years and coins playing it. to me it was SNK's answer to the Capcom's VS games and it was only available for the Ps2.
King of fighters 11
I personally thought kof 11 wasn't as good as kof 2003 but people always disagreed with me. Still great that their was a home release.
Shinobido
Tenchu was one of my favourite game franchises of all time and the best stealth based game imo. And although not set in the same world as tenchu, Shiobido has to be the best in the series and one of my favourite games of all time.
Shinobi and Nightshade
When talking about making a good transition from 2D to 3D people always talk about Mario an Zelda. But Shinobi Ps2 is also up there. One of the best ninja games of all time.
Onimusha dawn of dreams
Now I was never a Onimusha fan. The games just felt like resident evil with a sword. where resident evil was about surviving and exploration rather than action which complemented the fix camera angles and tank controls. But it just didn't work with Onimusha because the game was a hack and slash.
Then dawn of dreams came around and changed everything. The characters and gameplay which resembles Shinobi ps2 and all the weapons you could find and RPG elements with some of the best visuals on the system made this a great game.
Devil May Cry 3
my favourite game in the franchise. Loved the story, weapons and special abilities.
Persona 4
Probably the best RPG of that generation. Besides the great plot and gameplay, I truly had a genuine connection with the characters to the point where it felt like I was truly saying goodbye to every one. It resembles Shenmue in many aspects in that you're not just playing the game but living it. Great atmosphere and world in this game 10/10.

Agetec in general had a lot of hidden gens.
The games I mentioned are probably the most popular, but there were a shit ton of great ones coming out every week, on all platforms, from many different companies. It was insane.
What a great time it was to be in school, and play games with local multiplayer options. I remember going to GameStop and seeing all the new releases. Even games like the TMNT Konami ones were fun if you played them with friends. I think they had three of those.

- Gradius V - Shattered Soldier - Neo Contra - Ace Combat 04 - Ace Combat 5 - Bloody Roar 3 - Bloody Roar 4 - Dead Or Alive 2 Hardcore- Virtua Fighter 4 - Zone Of The Enders The 2nd Runner - Devil May Cry - Devil May Cry 3 - Armored Core 3 Agreed with these. And I need to play the Castlevania games for PS2 again. I liked Lament of Innocence but don't remember it enough to give it more than a soft recommendation, and never played Curse of Darkness. Crossed out DOA2 because I wanted to comment on it. It's also on DC and was later ported to Xbox. And Xbox version is the way to go for that game, but the PS2 version is good if there is no interest in getting it on Xbox. And to mention a few of my own picks: God Hand (which I see someone else mentioned, this is also a PS2 classic for PS3) Klonoa 2: Lunatea's Veil Shin Megami Tensei series (Nocturne, Digital Devil Saga 1-2, Devil Summoner 1-2, Persona 3-4) Growlanser Generations(2 and 3) Maximo: Ghosts to Glory/Army of Zin Jak and Daxter: The Precursor Legacy Disgaea 1-2 Final Fantasy X/X-2 (yes, I also like X-2) I feel like I'm forgetting some stuff but we have a good list in here.

Pimpjira yeah, definitely don't miss out on the Castlevania games, both are excellent. Lament Of Innocence on @crazy is just the best, basically the beginnings of Souls games. Then Curse Of Darkness is a fun action RPG. Silent Hill 3 and Lifeline are pretty awesome too. I also heard good things of the Metal Gear Solid games.

I also heard good things of the Metal Gear Solid games. I almost added those but then remembered they were also on Xbox. Anything that got ported during the generation of it's release I left out. So the vanilla versions of MGS 2 and 3 are still exclusive to PS2 but there is no reason to get those over the Substance/Subsistence releases. (especially for MGS3 as it got some improved controls for the Subsistence release and not only some extra content)

Bogard - I had forgotten about Shinobi and Nightshade. I haven't played them myself, but in every video I've seen they look great, so I would certainly include them in my list. Man, I just wish Sega stopped porting only Mega Drive games (and the occasional Dreamcast one) and started working more on their Saturn/PS2/XBOX/Gamecube library. They have so much good stuff from those consoles that was never re-released! EDIT: I agree on DOA 2, the Xbox remake (DOA 2 Ultimate) is the way to go.

If you're into Ninja games then this is one of the best. Plays a lot like Onimusha dawn of dreams. It can get very repetitive and the difficulty is old school hard in that the game sets you back all the way to the beginning if you die from a level that takes 40 minutes to beat. But they are still some of the best ninja games ever made.

I have to say though, in terms of collections the GameCube is probably the only disc collection that I wouldn't mind keeping because the discs are so small. If I had a PSP I wouldn't mind keeping those discs too, as long as they are in the original case.
In general I honestly prefer cartridges, at least for collecting. I have a decent Wii and Wii U collection that I love, but if I lose them I wouldn't miss them as much as my 3DS, GameCube, or Switch collections.
