Nice preview. I still play the original Guilty Gear for the PS1 and it is pretty solid too.

So, I finally have the inapropriately rare Guilty Gear Xrd Revelator! Where should I start? Well, I guess I should begin from the very first improtant thing I noticed as soon as I began playing it today: the sound is horrible! Ok, I know this is weird, but the situation was that I booted the game, and before I played the regular arcade modes it suggested me playing through the tutorial. Fine. I go inside the tutorial, I'm Sol, and the tutor is Jack-O, but WHAT IN THE NAME OF FEMTO IS THAT?! The background music is disturbingly bad, and I'm not talking about the composition, I'm talking about this below 128kbps quality going on in this non-NintendoDS game. Now, I think it's interesting to clarify that this game originated from an arcade machine more powerful than the Ps3, this is port, and as most ports, there gotta be some changes and downgrading in order to make games work right, and many changes are noticeable in the Ps3 version, the game doesn't look as good (still looks good, though). But I never knew the Ps3 couldn't handle regular mp3 files, am I missing something? That huge patch day one, it was some times bigger than the soundtrack, why was it needed to compress it like that? Is it just me or they don't have a Q&A team? Or even a supervisor for that matter. That situation immediately reminded me of 2 games for different reasons. One is Arcana Heart 3: Love MAX!!!!!, a game with bad sound quality and bad music composition (and uninteresting graphics) that still manages to express its personality a lot better than Revelator for the simple fact that the player won't feel the need to take the music out of the experience; the other is Skullgirls, because the compositions are great, and after knowing blind players had taken a liking to it the developer decided to work on better sound options for them. Bottom line is: Guilty Gear Xrd Revelator somehow is the fighting game with the worst presentation in my collection. Now that I have bashed it, I'm going to say that I absolutely love that there are at least 2 relevant single player modes outside of versus, and I like the gacha based item acquiring methods (already got 3 alternate system voices, yay!). The reason why I went for Revelator is there too: I wanted a game in which different characters feel like different games; and it's done without breaking itself, so that's awesome. Unfortunately I still didn't get over the horrible sound quality (no custom soundtrack either), so I guess I'll just have to get my headphones and play cool stuff while playing this one; such a shame half the presentation was thrown in the trash can like that.

I'm planning to get the PS3 version as well, I had never been a fan of Arc System Works sound mixes, they don't overlap enough for my taste, the fidelity was always fine though.

I'm playing it with the music muted. It is the worst thing I've seen done in terms of technical issues with audio.

Oh wow, is it that bad? I appreciate the heads up but I'll probably end up sucking it up since I prefer my fighters together. I'll probably end up doing the same and turning down the music if it is that bad.

spidershinobi maybe something is wrong with the tv or your console. I've had no issues with og Xrd sign. He is talking about -Revelator- on the PS3. I have -Sign- on the PS3 and it is flawless, but this is a different game. I don't have it myself yet, so I don't know how the system will handle it.

It is pretty bad. Maybe you can get away with turning the music down to 15 or 30 if the sound quality in your system isn't good. I hate to admit it, but despite the fact that Revelator on arcades isn't really a completely different game from SIGN, on consoles it may have been treated as a standalone port because the new mistakes don't make sense.
