This guy steps over the line on an everday basis. I don't mind it that much, but if we start to delete posts after his requests, we're going spiral down to a dark place man.

No. Balder approaches me on a 5-to-1 ratio, not the other way around. He knows I don't want to talk to him but he keeps pushing it. So when he harasses me and trolls me, I lash out at him. It's that simple. He even admitted to trolling me in the collections sub-forum with that BS story about how he was applying to become a full-time teacher.

He deserves no sympathy. From now on instead of responding to him, I'll just report his posts for deletion whenever he gets nasty. How does that sound? That way we can keep things civil by forcing civil discussions.

Since Balder trashed talked 'bout me a week ago, I'm gonna drop a sick rebuttal here to prove my point on something in the engineering world that I am adamant about: bubble domes.

Bubble domes SHOULD still exist on cars because they already DID exist on cars in the past, some of them the recent past. Some of my favorite examples include the Peel Trident, the messerschmitt KR200, and the ellert.









I don't know of any examples of real life full-sized cars that had bubble domes a la The Homer because I'm only familiar with micro cars (I detest anything larger than the supermini segment of vehicles), but as I just proved bubble domes are indeed a totally viable design choice for automobiles and SHOULD- I repeat, SHOULD- still be fully incorporated into at least some modern automobiles. Not everybody lives in a tropical country, Cervantes. Bubble domes might not make sense in Brazil but they make perfect sense in an overcast, temperate or sub-arctic region like western Europe, Canada, or the Korean peninsula. I would love to own a car with a bubble dome because not only would the cabin be warmer for 3/4 of the year, but also because the absence of pillars means that visibility would be nearly perfect 360 degrees around.

The only idiots who fret about safety are Americans and other such stuck-up first world slobs. People like Stratogustav and Balder are the reason that overall fuel economy plunged so drastically in the american auto industry during the Bush Administration (2000-2008). All of the extra safety tech that the Bush Administration forced auto manufacturers to employ in their cars sapped up tons of extra power from the cars, which in turn really bogged down the overall fuel consumption of them a lot. In the end, it wasn't a good trade off, since many cars from that era including the Dodge Caliber, the Hummer 2, the Hummer 3, the Jeep Commander, the PT Cruiser, the Chrystler Town & Country, and the Ford Excursion are widely considered to be some of the worst cars ever made, mostly because they all share a glaring problem: atrocious fuel economy. All of these added safety measures were really just a scam by the Bush Administration to help out big oil, as if they needed more help. It really just hurt the consumers more than anything.

So yeah, don't listen to Balder or Stratogustav when it comes to automobiles. Listen to me. There's absolutely nothing wrong with bubble domes and in fact they have objective advantages over normal windshields, as I've already explained. I think an easy solution to the problem of bubble domes making the cars too hot to drive in tropical areas would be to design them so that they can be fully or at least partially removed, which would then transform the car into an open-air design, similar to detachable roof panels on small sports cars/SUVs like the Honda Del Sol, the Autozam AZ1 or the Suzuki X 90. That would single-handedly solve the problem.

I should design my own microcars and single handedly revolutionize the automotive industry. I have all the answers the industry needs.

Screw you, pig. My post wasn't about you. I was replying to my good friend Cervantes about something very important: the microcar industry. I had meant to make this point for over a year now, but I kept putting it off because of other stuff getting in my way.

I love the design philosophies of these independent microcar creators and I think the mainstream automotive companies like Honda and Toyota should learn a thing or two from them. And I'm not about to let some despicable, stuck-up, scum-sucking swine like you try to cover it up.

You only have yourself to blame for trying to shoot down my argument against the automobile industry. Nice try there, butthead.
