I thought we had discussed this game, but it must've been on the old forum. You guys know I love this game, and I wouldn't shut up raving about it on the old forum. It's the game I've played the most. It has finally come out on Xbox One (well it's a couple of months since then I guess) and I've played a lot of it. The multiplayer is perfection. I've never played a multiplayer game that has worked so flawlessly as Halo: Reach when it came out. It did literally everything right in terms of connecting to games, voting on maps, having lots of gamemodes and maps etc. It was my first game that I arranged a LAN party of, and I've run countless since then. When Reach was re-released, it was like going back in time. The multiplayer is fantastic, but what I also would like to discuss is the campaign, because even though I've also liked Reach's campaign, it wasn't really until now when I finally appreciated how fucking great it is. I've played through it on Legendary solo, and it's a challenge, but also so rewarding and fair. It was so fun replaying it on Legendary solo that I actually went back to Halo 4 and did a Legendary run on Solo there too, and then I realized how much I hate the campaign of Halo 4. Halo 4 is the opposite in many ways. Reach is hard as hell, but most of the time it feels fair because the enemy is smart and relentless, but they all have a weakness and there are always different ways to take them out. Halo 4 on the other hand is tedious and boring as hell. I would say that I had more problems getting through with Halo 4, and it never felt fair. Enemies there are retarded, but they are so overpowered and have all abilities and then some. They constantly respawn and it's not very fun. Go through Reach again if you have the chance. Best first person shooter game of all time if you ask me.

Holy crap, we never had a discussion thread for Reach??? And here I thought we had talked about all the Bungie Halos!
Reach is one of only two Bungie Halos I haven't played yet at length (the other is ODST), as well as the only Bungie Halo I never personally bought. I think I may have it in my collection though, since my bro donated all his 360 games to me a while back, which included Reach. Gonna have to check tonight.
The one thing about Reach that has turned me away from it compared to the other Bungie Halos is the introduction of a sprint mechanic. This is a potential deal breaker for me. The Halo games were traditionally akin to arena-style shooters like Quake & Unreal in terms of their movement mechanics and some of their shooting mechanics; namely, they didn't feature sprinting. Slapping a sprint mechanic onto Halo is like something nobody asked for and nobody needed. I feel by doing this Bungie & Microsoft were taking their first step towards turning Halo into a trend-follower rather than maintaining/refining everything that made Halo so remarkable, since CoD had just become a phenomenon when Reach came out and was well known for its frantic sprint-everywhere gameplay.
Also, it seems like Reach was widely considered the worst Halo game before Halo 4 came out in 2012. There seem to be some complaints about multiplayer map design in Reach being too expansive to the point that it felt barren, although I have never personally played the game, so this is really just echoing other longtime fan complaints that I've heard.
I plan on playing through the campaign for the first time, hopefully soon, and seeing how Reach compares to CE, 2, & 3. Maybe we should consider discussing ODST too?

There were sceptic peoole of Reach, but I think most people have come to appreciate everything Reach did, and the fact that it is the most polished Halo game ever made.

I didn't know they had films, but I was looking online and they have actual movies of the franchise. I like when games get other media like that, even if game films usually aren't great, it is nice to have a further exploration of the lore the franchise establishes.
I for example love both of the original Mortal Kombat films. Some people didn't like the second one, but I liked it even more than the first because Mortal Kombat was my thing at the time. So it is nice Halo has gotten some love like that too.

It's made by many different Japanese animation studios that all have made a short film set in the Halo universe, and Halo Legends collects all of them in one neat anthology.

I had no idea the Japs were involved, even better then, I'll definitely watch that one, but I'm curious about the others too.
I will check them all out, after I got my Halo 3 figure I became more interested, plus I like anything sci-fi.

That Halo figure you got was amazing btw.

It has some residuals from paste adhesive, but it is easily removable stuff. I definitely recommend those kind of figures, they look nice.
