Love it, 10 out of 10, from the golden age when people would gather outside their homes to celebrate gaming, and have a good time face to face.
You can't beat the sound of the games of that generation, and this game is not an exception. I can't stress enough how amazingly these games sound.
The gameplay is excellent as well, and like I always say, anything that involves competition, skill, dedication, and that allows you to put a smile on your face even if you play for just a few moments is more worthwise that something that feels like a chore like most games today.
The fact remains that the biggest the limitations developers have, the more ingenuity you need to create a hit, and Robotron 2084 made it happen on the extremes of those conditions, which automatically puts it on the pedestal that shares with many other classics.
It is to a point that a game releasing today has more chances of becoming obsolete in a few months, while Robotron 2084 will still hold its awesomeness for decades to come, and beyond.

One of the games that I was introduced to through classic game room. played it on many platforms and it's definitely one of the best games of that generation. I actually really liked the atari 7800 version.

I don't know why, but I constantly find myself being pulled into playing this game at any arcade I visit. The game is so simple, but it is incredibly addictive. I think I have only gotten as far as the 10th stage, but my God is it hard! It isn't unfair hard, though. This and the N64 version of the game are outstanding. I love this game to pieces.

One of the things that I like about it is how well they used the colors and sounds. It has that abstract and psychodelic feeling that was common in arcade games from its time, which combined with the fast moving gameplay makes it almost hypnotic. Too bad I suck at it, because it's a great game.
