I've been playing a lot of Lego games with my sister's kid over these Corona-ridden weeks since I'm back home for the time being. He's only 4 years old and there's not a lot of games that he can play that are easy enough for him to control, but these Lego games are very forgiving. These Lego games by TT are really relaxing so sit back and play while listening to music or a podcast. They can be really brain dead to play since they don't have a lot of substance, but they're entertaining enough to not be boring. Lego Star Wars is really the best entry in my opinion and The Complete Saga is the definitive version at the moment. There are lots of characters to play even though many of them feel the same playing, and this game takes a really long time to 100%. I think it took me 48 hours of game time to get all of the achievements. My nephew really loves playing these games, and he's come over to my place several times without permission from his mom to play, haha, so sweet. It's a light point in these dark times for me for sure. 4/5 from me because even though it's enjoyable, it's not exactly the most engaging game ever.

I have some of the Sesame Street games, but not the controller. But I think the 2600 joystick will suffice once he learns to coordinate movement more easily with a controller. One of the hardest things for him right now is being able to do two actions at the same time. Shooting or jumping while moving is not a possibility for him right now.

I played through it many, many years ago as a pre-teen. The humor is enjoyable, there's lots of stuff to unlock, and it has co-op support, but every aspect of the gameplay is far too simplistic to keep older gamers interested for very long. I've never even had the urge to go back to any of these games all these years later, which is extremely rare for me.
Therefore I give it a generous 3/5. It's a decent disposable kid's game that would probably appeal to lego enthusiasts as well, but otherwise has little value. Even Star Wars fans should strongly consider trying someone else's copy before they buy their own, not that it would cost them much.

One interesting thing about these Lego games though, is that they are somehow slightly more harder to collect than other games. I'm trying to collect a full set, and when GameStop was up and running, I never ever saw a Lego game in their used section. Also, people seem to charge more for these games than other just as old games. They usually sell them for 15-20 bucks instead of 5-10.

I mostly remember playing the 1st Lego Star Wars back then. The Co-op was such an amazing feature, and I like how the game wasn't too slow paced. It was usually fun to look for collectables and secrets, so a lot of stages had good replay value. Combat was a little wonky but it was fun overall.

So easy for people to join and go without having to restart or finish the level.

I've played several of the games in the series with younger family members and they are fun at first but I get bored of them quickly. Beat the first LEGO Star Wars if I recall and would give it a 3/5 assuming the complete saga is of the same-ish quality as it and the other Lego games I've played(which are Marvel Super Heroes and Batman 2).

I feel like Lego Star Wars is the best in the series, but they all follow the same formula more or less.
