stratogustav, what is your favorite Depeche Mode song? I love the band, but I have to be in a mood to listen to them. I think my favorite may be Enjoy the Silence. I also like Strangelove '88. People Are People reminds me of my Mom rocking out with the boombox blasting while folding laundry when I was little. (That and Hair of the Dog by Nazareth. My wife first met my Mom while belting out "Son of a biiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiitch!!!" during the chorus to that song. Welcome to the family, right?  ) It also reminds me of the naivety of the Band Aid era.

Depeche Mode is a fantastic band, I honestly like all their singles, and like you said, it depends of the mood to like one or the other, but their style is just cool. They have influenced so many bands, not just from the 80s, but there after. When I was in school there was this Mexican band called Moenia who sounded like them, and that's how I started liking that style. I always liked Personal Jesus ever since they put it on Victoria's Secret: My favorite song is probably from when I was in school called "Precious". I think it came out around 2005, and it was a big hit back then. |
