In regards to what, might I ask? You need to specify. The 80's had incredible media in general (video games, music, movies). Also, the clothes and overall style are transcendent. Yes, it was a time of innovation. Of synth drums, glowing laser borders, a fledgling industry of bloody awful CGI. lookadat lookadat! Back ot the Future had such a bold vision of 2015. I still feel lied to though

Eh... CGI wasn't really a thing though in the 80's.

The good stuff that came from the 80s doesn't redeem the ultra-conservative political climate that lead to things like mass deforestation, stagnant minimum wage, widened gap between the lower and upper class, increased carbon emissions, climate change denial, increased military spending, etc. The politics of the 80s started or popularized many horrible global trends, some of which are still a problem to this day.

I found this movie while googling. Apparently it's available on Twitch on all places. Here's my thoughts on it: "For the record, I have never seen a G.I. Joe episode or anything G.I. Joe spin-offs/adaptations. I am familiar with the concept though and some of the characters. At its core, the G.I. Joe franchise is a toy line with media trying to promote sales of those toys. This is a usual business strategy with intellectual properties such as this, but god damn is not subtle in this. Every scene there is a new character introduced, a new vehicle or a new set piece to promote more action figurines to sell. Aside from that, the story is not great and the whole movie feels like it is a long episode of a show. It does not feel very cinematic to me. The animation is not great, but I do like the lasers, they do look awesome. I will probably never grow any appreciation for this franchise due to not growing up in the 80's, but I guess it was interesting to get a look into what G.I. Joe is as a show/movie. Fans of the show will most likely have some appreciation for this, but to me there are a myriad of much better children cartoon shows that aged much more gracefully than this. If I have to hear someone yelling Yo Joe once more, I think I will go insane." 1.5/5 Very bad, sorry. Here's the link to the full movie: www.twitch.tv/videos/200333418

I was lucky that I grew up in Central America, so even if I grew up in the 90s I still got to enjoy many of the 80s shows as a kid because they were still showing them there.
Also my cousin that was older than me and living in U.S., collected many of those toys as a kid, by the time I was a kid, he was no longer a kid, so I inherited all his collections that he send with grandfather when visiting.
On top of that, things were migrating faster during the 90s, so I was getting the 90s stuff too, and I had the chance to live two decades in one. I feel very privileged.
