I hate to disagree with you guys, I understand your point of view, but Super Mario Bros. 1 is still my favorite game after Super Mario World, I like it even more than Super Mario Bro. 3, and I know Super Mario Bros. 3 is better. Super Mario Bros. 1 is just too perfect for me, and honestly the VS. version on the Switch is maybe even more outstanding than the original. The original Mario Bros. is great too though, I still give it a 10 just like Donkey Kong. Oh man. Since SMB 3 is my favorite, them's fightin' words!
Kidding aside, I like MB better, because of the co-op. SMB 1 has a terrible 2 player mode. There was nothing worse than being forced to play as Luigi when the Mario player was god tier. MB keeps it going, no matter what, and if somebody dies, you get to keep going. I guess I'm old school when it comes to couch co-op. I don't play this competitively, so strategizing how to take on a level with the person right next to you is a lot of fun.

No worries, there are different types of games anyway, and yes, co-op on the original MB is a lot of fun, I still give it a 10. Honestly the New SMB games, and 3D World in particular, are outstanding when it comes to co-op. 3D World is probably one of the best co-op experiences on the market, and it includes the original MB too, as Luigi Bros..

I really love 3D World. If they port it, I'd love to see the Virtual Boy game added with Luigi Bros.

Like many other people here have chimed in, Mario Bros. has aged quite gracefully compared to a lot of its contemporaries. It's still highly playable and entertaining to this day, and playing it in co-op is such a treat. I've only played the 2600 version, but it's one of the titles I've played more than most on the console. It's challenging like most 2600 games, but there are difficulties here that are for the most part quite fair. It's one of the few titles you can consistently play for more than a couple of minutes at a time. I want to go back now and play this again. Solid game that is very close to being one the all time great games on the console. 4/5 Good review Hey thanks man, I appreciate that a lot. I'd also like to thank you for always posting relevant links of videos related to the topic. You know your way around.

This doesn't have a Game Boy version, does it? I know there was one of those scanable game cards for the GBA, but nothing for an old GBC owner like me
