This movie is available on Tubi.tv and Amazon Prime US for those who're interested in watching this. I'll probably get to it some day.

I watched it relatively recently with a friend. I think it was right before the whole pandemic thing started, and it was pretty good. I remember liking it a lot.
They nailed the whole feeling of the characters, but what else can you expect? It is an Anime after all, so of course they are going to nail it.
I have seen some Western animated movies of Street Fighter as well, and although they are interesting to watch, the Japanese artists always do a much better job representing the franchise the way we imagine it, or at least the way I do.
To give perspective to people, what truly makes all these Japanese movies better is what they don't show, basically all the things they hint about in a vague way that occur behind the scenes without actually showing.
That's a recurring theme behind all the anime movies I have seen in this genre, including The King Of Fighters, and Fatal Fury series, and in my opinion it is one of the many aspects that make these movies stand out with their vibe alone.

Finally sat down to watch it, and it was better than I had thought:
"This was a rather fun and entertaining Street Fighter movie and it is essentially what the live-action Street Fighter movie should have been, but since that was a failure in every sense of the word, I am glad that the fans of the franchise at least got something that stays true to the source material. The animation is great as the studio did not pull any punches in making it and these characters feel like what their characters should be like from the games. We get an appearance of pretty much every major character from the games and the fight scenes are quite good. The story-telling is nothing special, but the source material did not give them much to work with anyways. I liked it though, and it made me want to get back into these games although I do not think I can spare that much time as the time required to be considered good at these games are absurd." 3.5/5

The good thing about these games is that there are lots of people at all levels, so you'll always find people at your level to have a blast with. The AI for matching gets better on every generation, and it gives a more fair challenge to all the newcomers. Talking about Street Fighter specifically, the best way to start is to choose a character that you like, then try all his specials and moves to find those that are simpler for you to perform, and most importantly find those combinations that do the most damage with the least amount of effort. It follows the same rules of real martial arts, find the simplest way for you to do the least amount of effort that can do the most damage, and use the brute force of the opponent to play against him through punishers. If you know those two rules, the game is more accessible than people give it credit for. It basically becomes a game of footsies where the most important part of the game is to maintain a safe distance for attacking and defending at all times, that's it. winnersdontusedrugs and other Street Fighter players can corroborate on all of that I just said. By the way, it's cool that you watched the movies, I always like those Anime ones because of all the dark things they always hint and don't show, it makes perfectly teen movies enjoyable for adults too. Anime does a lot of this type of thing, and it is very entertaining.

It's been a whole since I've seen this one, but I've practically committed it to memory at this point. Both the art quality and animation are on point here, I wish today's anime studios would take notes. Characters are consistently on model, and the detailed animation carries a sense of weight and impact, without relying on heavy stylization. Most of the fights here are grounded by anime standards, so towards the end when people start shooting karate lasers, the movie does a good job having the surrounding environment react in a believable way. For example, Guile did not have a good time in this movie, but that part where he cuts a house in half with a sonic boom remains one of the most badass things I've ever seen.
My only real problem is with some of the sound work. For whatever reason, they decided to go with more anemic, "realistic" sounds for impacts. This is often at odds with what's being portrayed on screen, and I think a different approach to the sound would've taken the action scenes to a whole other level.

The reality is that many MLG e-sports players have spent less time playing games in their lives than Balder has. A good example is Melee god Wizzrobe You see the kid on the left? That's Wizzrobe. Not only is he younger than you (born 1998), but at the age of 15 he already had more talent at gaming than you will ever have in your entire life, even though he had spent far less time gaming at 15 YO than you have now. And do you know why he's superior to you at gaming? I'll tell you: It's his SKILL, Balder. Not time. Not practice, but ultimately SKILL is what decides the winner in the best fighting games, and skill is something that you will never have. Why? Because if you had it, you would've already discovered it by now. Skill is what separates real talent like Wizzrobe, myself, and the majority of other gamers, from lesser beings like you. Respect your superiors, Balder.

Or is this a one way street my guy?

Just because I'm not on a MLG level when it comes to Street Fighter means that I'm a filthy casual that don't deserve to talk about video games nor play them? Wizzrobe probably spent a good portion of his life on just a single game. Skill doesn't come without time. You're actually mentally insane dude. You need to get off the internet and get some serious help. Get yourself committed.
If you want to prove to the rest of the Pub how terrible you are at video games, I challenge you in Street Fighter.

So you have selected death, then
Street Fighter is my only option? The options are limited, then. Further proof that Balder doesn't respect the fighting game genre.
Nevertheless, here's my challenge for Ballhair: beat Street Fighter 3 3rd Strike single player on default difficulty with ALL the characters. Also, if and when you succeed, post your total time spent with the game. Don't lie to us.
I have barely spent any time with Street Fighter but that's my latest achievement. Thanks to my skill at competitive gaming I was able to achieve that, despite having spent only around 40 hours total overall with the game as of today, so my practice sessions were relatively brief for a fighter of this caliber.
So, go forth and offer yourself to the second greatest fighting game of all time, you worthless, arrogant, no-talent bitch. I'm sure it'll straighten you the fuck out and teach you some respect.

The challenge has already officially been set. You asked for a Street Fighter challenge, Balder, so I gave you one. There's no going back now. Remain an arrogant scrub or become something greater, it's your choice.
