You should try Minecraft out. It's one of those games that can be very addicting, yes, but also, it's one of those games you can go back to whenever you feel like. After you learn the mechanics it's like learning to ride a bike, you never forget it afterwards. You can come back whenever and play for a period and then play other stuff for a while. Is it worth buying? PC account costs $35 while a xbox360 disc would probably cost 5 to 10. It's most certainly worth buying, but you should buy it on the platform you'll see yourself playing on the most. Since it's cross play, you can play with anyone regardless. If you're buying a disc version, make sure it's not the legacy console version since that version of the game is no longer being updated and isn't cross play compatible.
