I was quite surprised to find out we hadn't discussed this game as I was pretty sure we had. I was looking for it in the vault and couldn't find it. This is one of the few games I've been playing lately and I've been playing it off and on since 2012 ever since it came out on Xbox 360. Over the years I've really ever played on a single world, which was the first world I created back in 2012 and I still play on it with friends from time to time. Now that crossplay is a thing, it's much easier to get a gang of friends around and just chill out, socialize and have fun together. The world we play on has become a place full of memories now which we are still building upon and it's just awesome to wander through it. We play on Survival mode so everything takes time to gather, which in turn makes it very satisfying to complete a building or whatever. Lately though, I wanted to get all of the achievements since I'm missing so many because I saved the world we were playing on in creative mode which turns off achievements for that particular world. Back in the 360 days, the world map was only as big as a single map, which meant you had to spawn in seeds, saplings etc. from new updates that couldn't be found naturally. This was eventually fixed on Xbox One when the world map became infinite, but by that time the damage was already done. So these past few weeks I've been getting all of the achievements on all three versions of Minecraft (360, One, Bedrock). It's quite satisfying getting all of these since Minecraft is one of the best games ever made. It's truly terrific.

Balder That's really cool that you have had such a memorable experience like that. I never knew that Minecraft was so co-op heavy and immersive. I always looked at it like some sort of a kiddy game, or something similar to Animal Crossing. That is because all of my nephews played it. I never had a disdain for it, but I never gave Minecraft much of a thought. You are changing my perspective.

Lots of people have this view on Minecraft though, so you're definitely not alone in this. To me, Minecraft is the perfect socializing game. When my best friend got cancer last year I usually visited him ever time I was back in my home town, and he always wanted to play Minecraft and just chat all night. Those hangouts were extremely profound to me, and it's been a while now since we've done it since he's busier now that's he's healthy again. What was funny is that his wife would come in and shake her at us just playing Minecraft. She too thought that it was more of a kids' game since her (actually) retarded brother played it. We've done many fun activities within the world such as having games within the game such as challenges to first get into the Nether with starting from scratch, first to build The Tower of Pimps from scratch etc. I also keep a list on a monument within the world of all the people who has ever played on it, and I think we're reaching 30 people, although the core group is around 6 or 7. Minecraft is a lot like Studio Ghibli movies, Lego or Star Wars, on a surface level it seems like a kids' thing, but really it's for everyone. You should definitely try it, involve the kids too, I think that would be a cool activity.

I actually own this game twice and I still haven't played it. I bought it for the Wii U, and never end up playing it, and I also bought the Switch version this year, and even with the quarantine extra time I still didn't make time for it.
What it draws me to it is the Wolfenstein-Quake look. It makes the game look nostalgic, like some kind of Doom or Duke Nukem I never played. I saw the latest Dungeons commercial and it looks like some kind of Diablo or Starcraft, but I still have no idea how the game really plays.

That's Minecraft Dungeons, this is simply all of the normal Minecraft games.

I was referring to the original game though. I just mentioned Dungeons at the end because I recently watched the trailer.

It's basically a dumbed down version of Diablo III with a Minecraft skin. It's actually quite fun, but it takes around 3 hours to complete and there isn't that much to do except for grinding. There aren't any classes so there isn't that replayable, but nevertheless, it's actually quite fun with the right group of friends.

When I said the original game gives me Doom vibes I was referring to the graphical style. I'm clarifying that just in case it was misunderstood.

M:D really does look like a kiddie version of Diablo/Torchlight.
I searched 'minecraft' in Steam and found a lot of Sandbox games, including a sci-fi minecraft clone called 'FortressCraft Evolved', a shooter version called 'GunCraft' and even a 'Robocraft'.
To be honest, I've been afraid to give Minecraft a go, because it looks like it would suck out all the time I have lol

It's one of those games that can be very addicting, yes, but also, it's one of those games you can go back to whenever you feel like. After you learn the mechanics it's like learning to ride a bike, you never forget it afterwards. You can come back whenever and play for a period and then play other stuff for a while.

Never played Minecraft, but I heard it was better before Microsoft bought it out. This is partly true. The app itself has become kind of shit, meaning that new version of Minecraft (Bedrock Edition) has a very slow startup and there are a couple of glitches such as the Nether not loading properly, however, the new version of the game has been updated quite often, implementing many cool things and the fact that it's a cross-play title now makes it one of the most including games to play with friends.

Is it worth buying? PC account costs $35 while a xbox360 disc would probably cost 5 to 10.
