I guess they're not playing around. That means Doom, Wolfenstein, Quake, and Shinji Mikami are now officially gone.

Beat me to it. They paid a hefty price for it too, 7.5 billion dollars. I mean, it's going to take a lot of years to make in that kind of money on their titles, but I think this is a good move by Microsoft. People say Xbox is lacking in first party games, but now they've brought back Obsidian to Fallout, so I'm in high hopes for a New Vegas sequel. And btw, this doesn't mean these titles are gone. Microsoft has been rather generous by releasing their bought titles on all consoles. I'm sure these series will be available on most platforms. Worst case scenario is console exclusivity.

Yeah, Nintendo may still get some of those.

Skyrim yes, but with the release of Fallout 76, that exposed the problems with Bethesda that were ignored in the past. That is not the case anymore. They haven't released anything that doesn't need FIXING for years. It is no longer "ok" that they do that since they "try things" that no one else does. Project Red actually made a far better game with Witcher 3 than anything Bethesda put out with far less money.

Is this a positive thing, or will this end up like the Rare buy out? Microsoft proved that money wasn't everything there. It was their relationship with Nintendo that made things work, so many of the creative minds left after the acquisition. I don't want to see that happen again.
