Since Until Dawn doesn't have a remaster or remake, we unfortunately cannot discuss them as well as the original in a single thread, however, I do have hope there'll be one one day so that we can retcon this thread.

This was one of the games I bought along with my PS4, but it's the only one I still haven't played. Looks like tons of fun though.

It is absolutely a blast, but you definitely can't play it alone and enjoy it as much.
Having multiple people with you discussing what decision to make, having the fear to do the wrong thing, is the way to go about it.
This is an incredible gem, I can't describe how good the experience is in a close group of friends.
We couldn't put it down, we finished it in one sitting. It was like 4 in the morning and we were still at it.
This was back in 2017 and I still remember, that's how good it is.
I also have to applaud the use of motion controls in this game. It really showcase how motion makes a game so much more immersive.
In a way I feel the DualShocks motion functionality were built for this. I haven't seen any other game making such a great use of it.
Supermassive is definitely one of the biggest assets Sony has. They made stuff for PS Move back in the PS3 era, and their VR stuff is great as well.
This franchise came as a nice surprise, so far there isn't a game in the series I don't like, but this game in particular really shows how awesome these kind of games can be.
It makes me wish there was more games like this. The closest are Heavy Rain, Beyond Two Souls, and Detroit Become Human, but this one is my favorite by far.
The story is silly and laughable, it is not deep at all, but that is part of what makes it outstandingly fun.
It is the kind of thing you wish it existed back in the early 2000s MTV era to enjoy with close friends, and this does it.

I've never actually played this one, but a friend played through nearly the whole game at my house in single sitting. He was over all night, so truly played....Until Dawn. He didn't actually finish it that day though, due to a power outage, so we went for breakfast. He came back the next night and finished it off.
I think it was a good translation of horror films. "College students" all played by people in their 30's, and few of the characters were sympathetic at all. The motion capture was great, as was the mixing of a few different horror sub-genres. The story, as stratogustav notes, is silly and shallow, but it didn't need to be deep to accomplish its goal.
If you're looking for a Halloween game and have 8-10 hours, it is definitely worth a playthrough. Oddly, despite branching paths and such that should add replay value, neither I nor my friend have felt the need to go back to it.

Absolutely, but as stratogustav says, I think it is best enjoyed with a group, or at least one other person. That goes for a lot of horror or survival horror games. I have great memories of playing or watching the Silent Hill, Fatal Frame, Resident Evil and other series or one-off horror games with friends.

That's honestly an excellent point, Silent Hill definitely comes to mind as well. I think it is hilarious your friend got a power outage playing through the game, it probably made it more immersive.
