My official score for this movie is 9.1/10
I actually came with low expectations for this movie. I thought it was going to be just another famous actors show off story that will probably be boring.
However immediately I was able to relate to the characters, both Matt Damon and Christian Bale, because it was easy to understand where they were coming from with their individual passion about modding and going faster.
For us it is easy to think these kind of things are something new, but they have been present in motor racing from the start.
Normally I would cheer for Ferrari because those cars are cool, and no one wants to cheer for Ford, but this movie makes you cheer for Ford, and after all it is always excusable because they are the ones that made it all happen.
It was nice to see all those original car designs, and even that nice track of Le Mans that I haven't seen before. I don't think they use it anymore in real life. It is actually cool to see all those classics racing hardcorely old school style on the 24 hours clock.
The movie end up to be very emotional for me, and it got me by surprise many times on very key moments of the plot.
I don't want to give spoilers, but it definitely wasn't what I was expecting at any point of the movie, it was always a surprise after another, and that's what made it good and exciting.
I tried watching it a second time to enjoy it again, but it wasn't the same anymore because you already know what's going to happen, you can still enjoy it, you just lose that impact of the first time watching it.
So if you watch it I recommend putting attention on the first time because that's what causes the biggest impact, and a good way to do this is giving it some volume because hearing those 1960 motors is always a pleasant experience to have.
