I have Tom & Jerry and the Wizard of Oz (2011), and even though these movies are new, they make them pretty good, maybe not as good as the 40s or 50s, but they are about the same as the 60s ones which is still a decent quality in terms of animation.
So that's pretty good all things considered because the transition from one era to another still looks seemingly similar, and that allows you to properly enjoy them without making you feel like you are watching a revival as opposed of what you want, which is a continuation of the older ones.
This on the other hand is a complete new feature film, and normally that would throw me off, but considering how much I enjoyed Sonic The Hedgehog (2020) after thinking I was not going to enjoy it, it makes me more receptive to these kind of adaptations.

Hmm... When I saw your post, I thought: you know what, it's really about time we get a high budget Tom & Jerry movie. I feel so included that you included the Norwegian trailer. I'm not going to watch the film dubbed, but I did watch the Norwegian trailer for shits and giggles. Dlotn and I are pleased by your careful consideration. Anyways, I don't think going live action is a good idea. It's mismatching for sure. It's never going to overcome Who Framed Roger Rabbit?, as that movie will probably stay as the greatest combination of animation and live action for the rest of time. If going this route though, I'm glad they chose an unrealistic depiction style that is true to their original style instead of going with the "realistic" CGI style that so many movies are using nowadays. What I feel is going to be mismatched here is that Tom and Jerry don't talk. The show is a visual experience as all of the narration is executed by motion. They are obviously going with human characters here that are going to carry the narrative, and I predict that all of the human characters are going to be garbage. We'll see however, and I'll suspend my judgment until having watched it, although I'm not optimistic about it.

The Norwegian trailer was pretty funny xD I don't have high hopes for this one as I am not a huge fan of slapstick comedy. I did like their choice of animation style, but would also be funny if they went the original sonic movie design (before the redesign) just because.

Live action, huh? I'm not a big fan, but my kids did like the Sonic movie. I haven't really liked the live action cartoon mix since Who Framed Rodger Rabbit. Of course, this isn't the first time Jerry did it.
