I always left my fat PS2s stand, but my slim ones I laid down.
I think we had around 5 to 6 PS2s overall just between my brother and I. Those disc drivers were delicate. Even after cleaning them, they only lasted so long.

This blew my mind when I figured it out 10~ish years ago.
I was cleaning my very dusty PS2 and noticed the logo felt a bit loose.
