Anyone else find it funny that Nintendo is uber anti piracy and console hacking, yet their consoles are the easiest things out there to run homebrew software on. I know emulation isnt for everyone, but I have a Wii that runs everything up till the 6th gen and a flashcart I use on my 2DS that I mainly use for GB/C, Sega Master System and PC-E games on. It just really really makes me laugh how easy their consoles are!

Anything nowadays is, not just Nintendo, my Hyperspin is proof of that.
However you need a nice PC for the new stuff.

Citra (3DS emulator) and Cemu (Wii U emulator) have made insane progress in the last year. Even though the Wii U is dead, the 3DS is still getting a somewhat steady stream of games so it's funny to see these emulators making progress so early.

I'd use a psp if I were to use emulators. I also have 3 gba sp's with the backlit screen. I'd take the real thing over the emulated deal any day.

I always say that's why the Vita failed big time, they worked on not allowing Nintendo emulators, while in the PSP it was so easy to do so. A handheld without Nintendo is doom to fail.

The reason the vita failed is because Sony wouldn't support the system. They wouldn't localize any of there bigger name titles. They made a system with tons of potential and just didn't care to support it. It could be so much more then a companion system to the ps4. Not everyone buys a Sony handheld just to use emulators. Some people actually buy it for the games. The damn piracy on the psp is what helped kill the system despite it selling well. Sony didn't want people pirating the vita games so they have tried to make it as hard as possible to hack or mod.
I always have found nintendo handhelds to be a generation or two behind. Not that thats bad or anything its just how they choose to do it.

I counted at least 100 first party published titles for the Vita in North America, that's like 5 times more support than the PS4.
Yet the Vita according to Wikipedia is not even at 4 million, while the 3DS is almost at 60 million. So I'm thinking is something else. My guess, the lack of Nintendo software.
Which is why the PSP was at 82 million because the emulators, but the DS without any emulators was almost at 156 million.
The Vita looks great to me though and it has great titles.

The PSP is a very popular unit in a emulation forum I'm a member of, I might look into in the future, but my 2DS handles what I want to play. I'd take real deal any day, but it's not an option.
