Great games for their time. But I Personally don't think they've aged very well. The gameplay is just too simplistic and repetitive with its almost one direction on rail level design. I think the Spyro games have aged a lot better.

I've been playing the remake for a good while and I'm in the middle of tidying up the first game as I 100% it. I played the second game a lot as a kid since the neighbor kids had this game (the second one) and it was pretty much their favorite. I remember having a great time with it, but going back to it makes it clear how much nostalgia this game lives off. The game has not aged well in a lot of areas. The platforming is frustrating as this game has a hard time translating depth perception to the players. There are a lot of bullshit jumps that only serves to aggravate the player, both in 3D parts and 2D parts. The 3D parts were cool at the time, however, 2D just sucks in this game. Enemies can hit you no matter how close or far away you are from the middle, however, you can miss the enemy by not being in the middle. Why they did the 2D segments in 3D was a retarded decision from Naughty Dog. The enemies are so uninspired. Most of them are generic animals or plain-looking humans. There is some variety in level design and there are fun levels for sure, but the game is so frustrating at so many instances. Why one has to collect every single box in every level, do speedruns within a time limit and do some of the most difficult levels without dying and collect every single box has frustrated so many times. It's bullshit, but I keep coming back to it. I haven't tried the second game since I was a kid, so it'll be interesting to get to it to see if the same bullshit is there too. One thing the remake updated for the better though aside from the graphics was that you couldn't run out of lives, which is generous of them.

I was never a fan, but they started growing on me, when compare to the majority of modern games, I definitely prefer these because they are more engaging, I appreciate the lack of space for error, you don't see that very often anymore, and that makes these games more interesting at a moment to moment basis.

I've got some friends who rave about these games from time to time, but I'm glad the score has been settled by the Pub that these games are overrated. I do enjoy them, but there are so many things that could have been better.

I just remember the commercials being very berating to other game companies.

I've finished all of Crash Bandicoot and done all of the time relics except for Stormy Ascent. Doing that whole level without dying seems impossible to me. There is a reason why that level was left out when the game originally came out. Maybe I'll get it one day. Other than that I finished the second game and I'm in the middle of getting all of the gems now. The second game is the one I played over at my neighbor's house back in the day. Compared to the first game, the platforming is a lot easier, however, the enemies are more difficult now, so it balances out. I'm glad the 3D perspective bullshit isn't as prevalent here, but this game is very stingy when it comes to extra lives. So in order to beat it, I had to grind out for extra lives. Hopefully getting the relics won't be as painful here as in the first game because that was aggravating to say the least.

I really liked Warped back in the day, it was the only one I played.
A year or two ago I grabbed N'Sane Trilogy, played it(the first game) for about 30 mins and never went back to it. I'm not sure if I just wasn't feeling it at the time or the games aren't for me anymore, will give it another shot eventually.

It's an outdated game in many ways, however, of you stick to it for an hour or two, you'll get used to the flow of the game. After playing through the two first games, I now look at them more fondly than I initially did.
