Not really surprising. The webstore content for all of those platforms has been gone for a while and all of those stores are a mess on their respective platforms. Not official yet but if the leak is true, PS3/PSP is going away in July, Vita in August. www.thegamer.com/ps3-vita-psp-stores-permanently-closed/At least I have pretty much everything I want for those systems I think. The trouble might be backing up my Vita games since I assume those memory cards are still stupidly expensive. Hopefully they offer the downloads for a year atleast after the store closes like the Wii did.

The question is if we still will be able to download the games after it's gone because that can be a problem for someone that doesn't have backups. That's why backups are important.

Hmmm, still just a rumor at this point, I suppose I should consider downloading some of the PS3 games I own but aren't on there at the moment. I think that's about 50 or so. Not enough room on internal storage for them, but I think the PS3 is compatible with external drives for archival storage. Just can't actually run the games from the external drive. Still have a bunch of spare hard drives kicking around, so not too bad an idea. I never got around to soft-modding my PS3. I think I...own most of the games I want for it Still, this isn't a bad prompt to do so. If I recall from the last time I looked into it, it gets you access to some neat things like the PS3's built-in PSP emulator. I think there's been a lot of headway made in converting PS2 games over to the format the 'PS2 Classics' line used for the official re-releases on the PS3. That would be nice, as my Fat PS3 (one of the later models that had software-emulation rather than the PS2 hardware of the earlier models) gave up the ghost finally and was sold for parts last year. I currently have one of the later super-slim models. Love those top-loaders. I think I have all of my legitimate PSP and Vita digital games currently downloaded on those systems, but wouldn't hurt to check that too.

Hmmm, still just a rumor at this point, It's official for EU, NA soon I would suppose. www.playstation.com/en-us/support/important-notice/ Features you will still be able to access: You will still be able to re-download and play previously purchased game titles. You will still be able to access previously purchased video/media content. You will still be able to redeem game and PlayStation®Plus vouchers. You will still be able to re-download and play claimed game titles through PlayStation®Plus as long as you remain a member of the service. Features you will lose access to: You will no longer be able to purchase PS3, PS Vita and PSP digital content, including games and video content. You will no longer be able to make in-game purchases through games on PS3, PS Vita and PSP. You will no longer be able to redeem PSN wallet fund vouchers (e.g. gift cards) on PS3, PS Vita or PSP devices once PlayStation™Store and purchase functionality for these devices close. Your PSN wallet funds will remain in your PSN account, but you will only be able to use your wallet funds to purchase PS4 and PS5 products on PlayStation™Store on the web, PlayStation®App or on PS4 and PS5 consoles. So it does seem we'll still be able to download our games so that's good. I guess it's time to check the stores and plan any last purchases.

Those are great news, thanks for sharing. I already have everything I want on my library including all the add-ons, and DLC. So I'm good.
I was going to get some Sonic games I was missing, but nowadays I use my PS3 as the brains for the arcade machine, so games that are played with a pad are not that relevant for me in that platform.
The last games I bought were Mamorukun Curse! last year, and Elevator Action Deluxe in 2019 I think. They just had stopped releasing games I was interested about.
However I do think the Japanese store still has a lot of stuff I want, so I may have to give it another look.
The ones I wanted were Blade Arcus From Shinning, Ketsui Deathtiny, Phantom Breaker Extra, and the PS3 version of Caladrius Blaze, but if I don't get those I probably will settle for the PC versions later on.
The one game I wish it was released for PS3 was Dragon Ball FighterZ, but it never was released, and also other games that only had a physical release like Ultimate Marvel Vs. Capcom 3, SoulCalibur IV, and Tekken 6.

Only thing that really sucks is having to scroll through the Vita download list to find my purchases. lol
PS3 download list is also crap but I have enough room on it to keep just about everything I would ever want stored at once.

Those lists are a pain, even for me, but still, I went ahead and bought the Japanese PSN games I was missing before I kicked myself for not doing it. I just couldn't find Ketsui, apparently it is only physical.

Truth about the PS3 download list. Since the PS3 can be used for downloading your PSP and Vita titles as well (and then transferred onto those consoles), you often run into issues with cross-buy. Two identical names for the same game, but no idea which is which. Often file size is an indicator, but not always, so you end up downloading both to be sure.

Anyone who cares about this topic probably heard already but the stores are no longer closing. (other than whatever limited functionality the original PSP still had that is still going away)

It makes a certain amount of sense to keep the storefronts open if they are going to be allowing people to re-download games anyway.
In both cases, you have to keep the games on active servers for download, but at least with the stores open, there's the chance of people buying things on them to offset the cost of running them.
The PSP store makes a certain amount of sense. The main store was closed quite a while ago. The only thing that is going away now is the ability to sign on in-game to the store to buy/download DLC.
Since the PSP can't connect to wireless networks with modern encryption standards, even if the store worked, you'd have to either switch to an old encryption standard while accessing (which a lot of modern routers can't) or turn it off entirely temporarily. Neither of which are great options.
At least with the PS3 store up, people can still download PSP (and Vita) titles, and then transfer them over to the console. Of course, you can download PSP titles from the Vita store as well, but no way to transfer to the older PSP from there.
