Those are cool. That guy is very talented. At some point we are going to miss the real deal like this because of AR, so these are precious.
What a perfect choice too. I can even hear the Forest Of Illusion song just by looking at that side of the map.

Those are cool. That guy is very talented. At some point we are going to miss the real deal like this because of AR, so these are precious. What a perfect choice too. I can even hear the Forest Of Illusion song just by looking at that side of the map. Do you really think that AR will eliminate art like this? I don't know. Perhaps it will decrease as the technology goes on, but there are many people in this world who like to express their inner artistic desires in a myriad of mediums. I hope this doesn't disappear.
My wife watched the video, and she was enamored with the concept. I think I may buy her some of the equipment he uses as a surprise one day to see if she really would like to do something like this.

It won't eliminate it, and it probably will make it more valuable because nothing beats having real, tangible things.
It's also like building a puzzle, so I can see couples having a lot of fun building these things.

This looks intricate and a bit too fiddly for my big fingers.
Forget augmented reality replacing this, this has more appeal right now than without it. If anything, a few strategically placed barcodes on it would enhance the piece, like animated fire torches or a moving Bowser.
I reckon you could also do something like a Mario level with folded paper, like a 3D image that's 4cm thick instead of 3mm.
