I thought it was about time for a new discussion, and I found it quite baffling that we hadn't discussed this one.

After playing through the disappointment which was Mass Effect: Andromeda, I wanted to play a great RPG, so I started on Kotor again, which is a game I've probably started four or five times, but never truly finished. I came pretty close one time as I was on the last planet in the game, however, I failed some companion quests that really took the wind out of my sails, and I didn't revisit it although I was going to finish it. I started three weeks ago, but due to a hectic schedule, I haven't got time to play it all that much, but I'm pretty happy with where I am. Taris is such a great hub world and Dantooine is pretty good too. I'm at Tatooine at the moment, but haven't done all that much. The card game in this game (Pazaak) is such bullshit, but I still play it.

Even though I never went to the dark side, I'm quite impressed by the choices you're allowed to do here. You can go full asshole and the shit you can do is dark as hell like getting you're companions to kill each other against their will. There is a bunch of sassy and childish things you can say to most NPCs as well and they're funny and creative. Mass Effect on the other hand doesn't have a strictly dark side route as renegade in that game is more ruthless than straight up evil.

Yeah it's awful and evil, but there's a reason for good behind it, although I totally disagree with it being a good decision. Making the Krogans fertile again is a risk to the stability of the galaxy and that's why Mordin is killed in a Renegade playthrough. While I think that it's an unspeakable decision, it's not a dark side playthrough like in Kotor.

Everything these guys do becomes massively popular. They definitely have a touch to make things stand out.
I remember hearing Baldur's Gate was almost as big as Diablo, and that's not something easy to do.
KOTOR is one of those titles you always hear about, like Dragon Age, and Mass Effect, which testifies the widely spread reach these developers have with their releases.
