Haven't played too much of The Sacred Stones but both Fire Emblem GBA games are some of the best in the series and the best in the genre. Even easier to get into the legendary Gamecube game.

RPGs seems to be the perfect genre for handhelds because you can take your handheld on the go, the reaction time you need in the games is relatively low, so you don't even need to get a good grip, and they tend to have large campaigns, which can be tackled with ease at different times of the day, before going to bed, on a trip, waiting in line, always chipping in for some advancement here and there, instead of having to dedicate any specific time of day for it in front of the TV that probably wouldn't be enough to make any serious progress. This is why Nintendo RPG IPs such as Pokémon became so popular in handhelds, and I doubt they would have had as much impact if they were just on consoles. So games like the Fire Emblem series also make perfect sense for this format.

I did play both of these but it was way back when they came out. Pretty sure I liked the first game(well, first for NA anyway) more than Sacred Stones. I've thought about revisiting them but haven't gotten around to it.

Since I recently beat Fire Emblem Radiant Dawn on Wii, I thought it would be a cool idea to compare the GBA entries, as they were significant entries in the series since several key staff members of the pre Binding Blade Fire Emblem games permanently left Nintendo and never returned to the series, so these were the first games without their involvement. Pretty interesting.
I regret to say that I have not played either of these games and I think it's heinous that they aren't available digitally at the moment (to my knowledge). As an OG Fire Emblem fanboy, I promise you all that I will play through these games before I die, or else I shall die a phony. If I had to pick a game to play first, I would choose The Blazing Blade over Sacred Stones, since, assuming The Binding Blade never gets localized, it's the closest the West will ever come to experiencing the story of Roy the boy wonder, AKA the Myrmidon of Melee.

Sacred stones has the beautiful princess Erika in it so it gets my vote.

They are on the Wii U. I'm still hoping we get GBA on Switch. I don't remember if you mess with emulation but Binding Blade does have a fan translation.

As a lifelong Paper Mario 1 fanboy, there's one particular observation I've made about the 6th & 7th gen Fire Emblems & Advanced Wars games.
I never understood why Paper Mario 2 (AKA TTYD) & 3 (AKA Super) had such rank-amateur visual design until I saw all the beautiful sprite work of the GBA Fire Emblems:
That's when I began to realize that Intelligent Systems had diverted all of the talented sprite artists who worked on Paper Mario 1 from the Paper Mario series to the Fire Emblem games and the Advanced Wars games! THOSE BASTARDS! So that's why everything in Paper Mario 2 & 3 looked like it was doodled by a skeleton crew made of up of amateur teenagers from Newgrounds!
It's basically the same mistake Toei made with Dragon Ball GT and Super. Animation studios NEED to stop doing this BS! I would much rather have waited years for a proper sequel to Paper Mario than settled for garbage sacrileges like TTYD and Super Paper Mario. All of this diverting of visual talent and focus group testing is what killed the Paper Mario series. By the time Sticker Star and Awakening both came out (around the same time, coincidentally), even the Fire Emblem series had fallen victim to losing its visual talent, and the scenario was reversed: Paper Mario was looking better, but Fire Emblem was looking worse, but both Sticker Star and Awakening ended up failing to meet longtime fan expectations, falling VERY SHORT of being the games that fans had hoped for. And then Color Splash and Fates both appeared and ended up becoming the most controversial, reviled games of the mid 2010s.
Intelligent Systems is one of those rare developers that hasn't had its shit together for literally decades. With all of the contentious games and decisions they've been making for so many years now, I'm surprised they're still in business. But, despite this, for all the underwhelming sequels they're made, I still can't help but love them as a developer for making several of my favorite game of all time, so I can't really say I want them gone even though they're definitely not what they used to be.
