Landlord Balder that is, because I just bought a house! I've always been looking forward to become a homeowner, but I never wanted to rush getting there. If I was going to buy something, it needed to have potential down the road. I don't need something perfect to begin with, but something I can work with and make perfect. Buying newer houses and apartments were not going to cut it as they are expensive and small. This is the perfect size for me, lots of rooms and big living rooms, with some property around the house to distance myself from neighbors. It's got a garage as well, which is always great. The furniture inside are rather old since it was owned by a elderly couple, so don't mind those. I bought below market rate too. Seller asked for 2.89M NOK (about 340K USD), but I got it for 2.7M after some haggling.
What do you guys think?

You need space for arcade machines, and another space for a large screen home theater, at least 155" large. Those are always priority.
Also fuck bath tubs, showers without bath tubes are the best.
And ceiling showers rule.
If anything a large hot tub where you can fit at least two girls will always be better than a bath tub.
Avoid bath tubs at all costs, they kill people.
Ceiling showers are better for sex any day.

Ceiling showers are better for sex any day. Arcade machines aren't a priority at the moment and I do own a consolized Neo-Geo MVS. For screens, TVs are much better than home theater screens, so I'll get a larger TV down the road, however, I'm quite content with my current TV for the time being. Bath tubs are overrated, and a large one wouldn't fit my bathroom anyways.

At least save space for a billiard snooker pool and an air hockey table. Foosball is cool too.
Have you had a 155" screen? Once you have that it's hard to go back.
I'm glad you think bathtubs are overrated, many people overlook this.
Plumbing in general is important you want a big sink where you can watch a large cooking pot without suffering.
Also having good pipes is good so your toilet and shower never get clogged even if you shave your balls while showering.

I've been renting for the past six years and I dislike the thought of buying a home I'll not be content with years later. It's a big place for one person for sure, but I can renovate and make it a castle that's future proof. I hate the thought of living a place temporarily and I'm done with that now. If I'd have bought a smaller place, I'd need to find another place later anyways and start renovating then. This way I'll have a great home sooner rather than later. |

Sure, I've got some help from my parents throughout the years, but this is mostly the fruits of my own labor. |
