I got this through an email. Atari XPBalder, the price for the game itself ($49.99) is OK, as long as it comes with the box and the manual. That's about on par with what the guys are doing at Atari Age. That limited edition for $149.99 is insane. I don't understand why it is so damn special.

The cartridge is 50 bucks alone and the box, manual and some small knick knacks are 150. It's not exactly competitive with AtariAge just yet.

To be fair, they have to crank up production to make carts again. Although with 3d printing, that might be easier.

It's always tentation for collectors and that's why they can get away with high prices. It is a niche market in a way, buy they can find people that are willing to pay, so they probably adjust the price based on that, instead of trying to go for quantity and big numbers. That's how the whole limited run model works, but I imagine they still sell quite a few, considering the price are still reachable for many people.
