fsfsxii - It's almost impossible to get that many halos through normal gameplay - even after replaying so many times, I wasn't even close. What I did was go to the first alfheim in chapter 3 (the one with the city burning), equip Gaze of Despair to get a super high combo multiplier, Climax Brace for fast kills, then I just kept killing enemies - this alfheim throws weak enemies at you until the timer finishes. Even after "failing" because of the time, you get to keep the halos (it will be a lot - I think it gives close to 1m each time) and can do it again immediately.

Hmm, i got enough halos by just playing the game and maximizing my multiplier through each encounter. The time counter stopped though, i'm at above 99 hours. CervantesAngel Slayer certainly helps if you want to gather a lot of halos. Whats your opinion on DMC4?

fsfsxii - While I appreciate the DMC series (played through every game), I'm not really into any of them. The slower movement system, fixed cameras and focus on juggling/combos is not my deal; I usually prefer games focused on movement, dodging and counter attacks (Ninja Gaiden, Metal Gear Rising and Bayonetta). But I do recognize that the combat system in DMC4 is really solid. Another quick word on Vanquish, now that I finished hard mode and most of the challenges: the only things holding this game back, in my opinion, are the bullshit one-hit deaths and the fact that a single melee attack overheats the suit. I wish I could punch/kick more enemies! By the way, playing it always makes me think of how much I liked Binary Domain, one of the most underrated recent Sega games. It does most of the same things done by Vanquish (except for the slides and bullet time), but adds more interesting enemies, characters and the very fun squad-based gameplay. Really recommended. I may even like it more than Vanquish, but it's a close-call: they're both very similar and fun.

The one-hit death is a technical flaw in the pc version when playing the game with fps unlocked, i heard they fixed it.

fsfsxii - Yes, they fixed it very quickly. But what I mean are some special attacks from bosses: if you get close to Unknown, or after the last Argus in the campaign is killed; these things kill in a single hit with no chance of defense. Besides those, the entire game is very fair.

Final Fantasy X, gonna do some side stuff but not going for everything. Some of the extra things in the game are way too tedious.

Final Fantasy XV. I went from loathing the game, to being in maddening love with it, just watched the Kingsglaive movie, and now i love the game even more. I'll admit that the game has many problems, but the amount of love and care put into it shows in a gleaming sort.

I need to buy Nex Machina. It's another game by the creator of Defender and Robotron 2084, plus the people of Housemarque that made Super Stardust and Resogun. It also seems to be another perfect twin stick shooter that goes alone well with DS4 controllers. You can't go wrong with that kind of package.

I've started to play the old Unreal single player game. Also played Timesplitters and was reminded why I don't like FPSs on the PS2.

Fps games should be played on a PC with mouse and keyboard. You have so much more precision and accuracy there then with a controller.

@lukefinfabre388 The Xbox360 analog stick isn't so bad, but the PS2's is crap.

Lol bullshit. The ps2's one is awesome the 360 controller just sucks balls in every aspect.
I would destroy any console gamer if he attempted to challenge me with a controller and I was using a mouse and keyboard instead in a fps game. Mouse and keyboard feels just as good as any controller if not better once you get used to it.

As far as consoles go, I find I'm becoming oddly fond of gyroscopic motion controls on the controller for aiming. I've been using it a lot in Breath of the Wild for fine-tuned bow aiming or quick shots and I liked it in the 3DS Ocarina and Majora remakes. I've even been trying Splatoon recently, and liking it quite a bit. I hadn't realized quite how much until I was helping a friend's child a bit with Breath of the Wild, and they were using the Wii U pro controller, so no motion aiming. Analog stick by itself felt pretty slow and cumbersome. Just a thought through. Not intruding on the ever-fun M&KB vs controller debate.

I think the kbm debate just stems out of something i'm not sure of. Its like saying a player with an Arcade Stick would always win over someone with a regular controller in a fighting game, which is absolutely not true. Two different genres, but you get the point.
