Played only Borderlands 2 this weekend. Not having enough time for games can be a problem, specially in that game considering that it expects you to level up to get new skills, but thankfully I've been able to finally acquire a minor game-changer for my siren. Can't wait till I have time to go further. GuilionDespite of what most people think, there are few generic shooters. It just happens that 2 of them already are the biggest sellers in the market.

I've been playing Valkyria Chronicles (pc version) for these last few weeks and I'm absolutely loving every second of it. It's truly the spiritual successor to Shining Force, in the sense that it could be Sega's flagship SRPG franchise. Also, I really liked seeing a few familiar faces in there - Vyse and Aika from Skies of Arcadia are in my army! I hope Sega commits itself to not forget about this series (there's a new game - albeit in a different genre - coming soon). Now, what I really would like to see from Sega was a successor to Dragon Force...

I'm about 4 hours into Tales of Vesperia on the 360, and quite enjoying it. I've also downloaded the demo for Bravely Second: End Layer, and it has been good so far. More of the same from Bravely Default, but that is definitely what I wanted.
Still slowly working through Fire Emblem: The Binding Blade.

I dissagree, I've been playing online shooters for what? 9 years now? (I remember playing War Rock when it first came out). And in that time I've noticed similarities among countless games, although not so much in the campaign or the general gameplay. The part where all the games start feeling the same is in the gunplay; every primary weapon does the same amount of damage in every game, they all have similar spread and headshots are always guaranteed one shot kills, not to say even if there are different weapons they all feel the same, they just make you slower, have a bigger clipsize or damage. That's the biggest issue I have with modern FPS if you were to strip say... Far Cry 3 or Borderlands of everything and leave them with nothing but the gunplay do you think you would be able to differentiate them from any other modern shooter?

Adding recently purchased Mercury Meltdown Remix on PS2 to the playlist.
I love Mercury and Mercury Meltdown, both games were great on PSP and I even enjoyed Meltdown Revolution on Wii despite the motion controls not being quite as good as I would've liked. Meltdown Remix on PS2 is somewhere between the original Meltdown on PSP and Revolution on Wii as far as extra content goes, it's got more stuff than Meltdown on PSP but not as much as Revolution on Wii, but the controls I'd say are the best in Remix on PS2 so it's pretty much a tie between the three versions overall; the original on PSP is portable, Remix on PS2 has the best controls and Revolution on Wii has the most content, which is also why I didn't stop until I had all three versions. I still love the original PSP exclusive Mercury the most, it not only evolved the puzzle genre, it did it on a portable system, that hadn't been done since Tetris on Game Boy, there was nothing else like it and it was only made possible thanks to PSP, it was an unforgettable experience playing that game but there's no denying Meltdown in all versions is an objectively better game in almost every way. It's safe to say after all these years I'm still a fan of the series despite how bad the latest Xbox 360/PS3 downloadable DLC divided game Mercury Hg was.

Started playing mw3 again. I cant believe im playing this. Its just as messed up multiplayer wise as modern donkey punch 2. Apparently I cant kill anyone. I shoot someone from behind he turns around and kills me. I shoot someone with my gun and my gun apparently is a pea shooter compared to his so all he has to do is shoot me a few times and im dead yet when I shoot him he does not die. All the enemy has to do is point and shoot and im dead. Everyone's got my number and wants me dead the most. This is the reason I quit cod.
Well at least the campaign is fun. Its too short though.
edit I finally did find a gun im good with. An lmg is more my speed. My strategy is to try and get myself behind enemy lines with my mg and tactical insertion. Then just spawn and kill the enemies again after I die. Also plan to camp a lot which is a legitimate strategy.

Now, what I really would like to see from Sega was a successor to Dragon Force... Yes please. This or Ogre Battle. I was playing Bloodborne and tried to tackle the DLC but got my ass kicked. Didn't have anytime to play it for a week and now I think I might go to something else for a bit.

I just played a few minutes of Shining the Holy Ark (Saturn). When I was a kid, I saw some promotional screenshots of the game and I think I also read about it in some magazine, but I never found it until now. The game is every bit as impressive as I thought: the graphics are really competent, and the sprites are detailed enough to look good on the 3d scenery. Also, it feels appropriately claustrophobic when you're exploring a dungeon, and the battle animations also look good. It's a good game, the only problem is that I got the JP version, so I'll have to read a faq or something to understand the story - the gameplay, on the other hand, was really easy to get into, as the game uses icons for your actions. But now I'm back to play more Valkyria. I was trying a few of the "professional" skirmishes; they're brutal! I could complete the Engineer, Sniper and Scout ones. I spent one hour trying the Lancer challenge, but it's just not doable right now - maybe after I level my characters a bit more I can try it again. In the story mode, I'm in chapter 12 (or is it 13?), right after Isara dies . Man, that was unexpected!

I played some Lament Of Innocence last nigh and I also hit a bit of Dark Souls 2 Scholar Of The First Sin. By the way Lament Of Innocence is the most fun when you put it on hard or when you try to pass it without using your potions.

Been replaying some LA Noire on PS3 lately. Great game if you're a fan of the film genre (which I am).

I walked around the crime scene for over an hour trying to figure out how to make progress with it. Then I got mad at it and went for a drive in the car crashing into things.

lukefonfabre388 Yeah, it's not a game for everyone, but I love it. What's the name of the case you're stuck on? Maybe I'll replay it and write up a walkthru for you - at least to the spot you're stuck at (spoiler free).
