Farcry Blood Dragon. I'm bored with it already. What an odd coincidence, I completed Blood Dragon along with Metro Last Light last sunday. I do have to say, once you take the retro sci-fi and humor out of it, Blood Dragon does become pretty tedious. The whole point of Far Cry 3 was to spend half the game building your character to become a badass and getting your ass kicked in the process over and over again until you learn how to play properly, Blood Dragon does away with this part of the game and as such it becomes almost unbearably easy. I think I still preffer Far Cry 3 Vanilla after playing it. Metro Last Light on the other hand was pretty good, it built over the last game and did away with some of the most annoying elements of it, I loved it. Okay. Metro Last Night. I might borrow it off my brother some time.

I've been playing a lot of Nintendo 3DS titles recently; Pokemon Omega Ruby, Smash 4, Animal Crossing and Tomodachi Life. I'm really enjoying Tomodachi Life A LOT! For those not familiar, it's not a game as such, but it's crazy. You take control of an island and steer the lives of Mii characters. They have voices and all sorts and do some truly random stuff.

Played a lot of RE this weekend. Played through Jake and Sherry's campaign in RE6 and then did some levels in Raid Mode of Revelations 2. Man!... I wish there were kinky Sherry scenes to make up for it. Or Jake ones, that campaign was so bad even nude Ustanak pics would have made it better. There's a reason why Borderlands 2 is great: it's worse in the beginning, gets better as you unlock skills. I think that if your game isn't fun when you have all the skills you can have then you just David Cage'd it.

Metro Last Light is great for the art direction alone.

Having played so many new games lately I felt like going back to some old classics, so I had myself somewhat of a marathon over the weekend playing through the original Super Mario Bros. trilogy on Entertainment System.

Adding newly purchased Transformers for PS2 to the playlist.
I've wanted this game for years but it's always managed to slip through my fingers, literally every time a copy has surfaced someone else has beaten me to it. But not this time! I saw it, I ordered it, I got it, ARC wins! It's a really great game and I'm glad to finally be playing it. I was never a big fan of Armada but this game doesn't feel too ruined by it, it's still got plenty of Transformers goodness in it, and while I'm not a fan of the whole mini-con business in the cartoon at all at least they fit well in a game as customizable powers and abilities, it makes them a lot more tolerable than they ever were in the cartoon.

Adding newly purchased Dead or Alive 2 for PS2 to the playlist.
I've been enjoying Dead or Alive 2 on Dreamcast since it was was new and the Ultimate remake on Xbox for the last few years, so I've never really felt the need to get the PS2 version as well, but now since both those consoles are broken I figured it was time to rekindle my memories of the PS2 version I played with a friend all those years ago when I had the Dreamcast version and he got the PS2 version. This is a promo disc, I don't know if there are any in-game differences between it and the retail release, but I highly doubt there are. It still looks and plays great, it was one of those early games I remember really showing what next gen tech could do. Fighting games in general have always been good at pushing tech to the limit, looking fantastic for the time and aging very well as a result, same goes for racing games.

PAPER MARIO 64!
Yes, right now I am playing through my favorite game of all time, Paper Mario 64, which is the most blissful, charming, magical, beautiful and adorable game of all time. I love absolutely everything about it. No other game has made me happier than Paper Mario 64.

I got at least half of the trophies in Nitroplus Blasterz Heroines Infinite Duel and I had been playing both Ultra Street Fighter IV and Street Fighter V as well.

The last week I've been doing nothing but playing retro FPS re-launch/re-imagening/remake extravaganza; it's being nothing but hunting ammo, healthpacks, enemies and -sighs- keys for me. I completed Serious Sam 3:BFE, Shadow Warrior and Rise of the Triad and I would recomend them in that order.
Overall each one has its strong points, Serious Sam is the most polished of the three being able to run on my low-end GPU at a steady 90 FPS with up to a hundred or so enemies on the screen at once and is the one I overall had the most fun with in general (It was insanely hard in normal difficulty though, I can't even imagine how hard it must be on the harder difficulty. For the record only 6.4% of people that play it actually complete the damn thing). I had problems running Shadow Warrior, however if any of you have a high-end gaming PC I can't recommend it enough, it's pretty much the game Red Steel wanted to be; a fast paced sword combat/First person shooter with extreme amounts of old Japanese action movies cheese thrown into it (And it probably has the best humor of the three, for what is worth the game is pretty well written and there's great chemestry between the main characters not to mention it's the only one of the three that actually had me laughing at times). And finally Rise of the Triad has the best bosses of the three, however the main issue I have with it are the technical difficulties I had with it, someone may blame my crap GPU but EVERYONE has their own horror stories related to the performance of the game; the worst one I had was probably this one level that I had to make a perfect run of (No deaths, no saves, no lollygaging) because otherwise a key needed to progress wouldn't spawn and I would be trapped in limbo forever.
However I still liked all three, not all three were the same cookie-cutter FPS experience that the rest of modern game offer and each one had something going for it. That said do keep in mind that you'll run into issues if you decide to pick up Rise of the Triad... and be sure to pick Lorelei, otherwise the later levels involving heavy platforming will be impossible.

Adding recently purchased Smuggler's Run 2 Hostile Territory to the playlist.
It's a promo disc but I assume everything in-game is the same as the regular retail release.
I like the original Smuggler's Run on PS2, I've given the GBA game a try (spoiler alert: it really sucks) and I haven't played the GameCube Smuggler's Run so I couldn't say what that one was like. By comparison to the original and the GBA game this sequel improves on the overall formula of the first game by being more of the same only with further optimization and fine tuning. It has some of the most impressive draw distances of any PS2 game I've seen and the visuals are very nice overall as well, there are even codes you can input during paused gameplay to double the framerate and stuff, there's a lot of fun to be had in this game.

@armored Core Raven The Gamecube one, called Smuggler's Run Warzones, is essentially a port of Smuggler's Run 2.

Yesterday I decided to give Super Monday Night Combat a shot; Ok, originally I just wanted TF2 hats, however the game turned out to be a lot of fun, a pretty original take on third person shooters with equally original gamemodes. Sucks that it has been abandoned and I have to wait around half an hour to find a match because the devs neglected the comunity the ability to create their own servers though.
