I reckon some of the old stuff should be relocated e.g. the thread about old Xbox magazines moved to the XBOX section under "Game Systems, Technical, Collections, Etc." The General Discussion thread is a bit clogged and I wish I could still see the "What are you listening to?" bit .

I'll see what I can do. Are there any other threads you wish relocated?

There's a lot of stuff on the General Discussions section that I think are eligible for having their own subcategories.
There's non-game related stuff (anime, what music are you listening to, favourite characters etc), there's rants on game companies (like on Konami), there's non-game system specific stuff (reviews, general game chat, game prices etc). At least that's how I'd sort it out.

All that stuff is pretty general. It barely has 5 pages of content. We would not want to clutter the front page with more categories, specially if each would end up with one or two threads each. We also want to keep it fairly similar or close enough to the original pub layout.
I do however agree that the reviews should go on their respective game system category, that's why we have the review thread on the general discusion section, to avoid cluttering it with those.
The more reviews the better because they add more value to the other game system categories. Some games are multiplat but they should go to the system the author was referring to.
For example if the author is talking about Doom and he has the Xbox One version, it should go to the Xbox category.

I personally only forsee no more than two or three subcategories being spawned on the General thread. "Clutter" is how I pretty much describe the General thread.
Yes, it has five pages of content, but all the system specific threads we have only have one each. I just wonder how much of that stuff could be transferred to those emptier threads to balance it out, that's all...(wonders if self is becoming anally retentive...).

Agree with stratogustav on this one. If it's not directly game related, it goes on the public general section.

The Xbox magazine thread has bee moved since it obviously had its place at the Xbox section, but what others deserve to be moved?

I also don't see much clutter, except for a few threads that may feel redundant - There's a "what are you playing" and a "rate the last game you finished" thread, which could be merged as "talk about games beaten/being played" or something. Also, there are both a "recent purchases" and "recent game purchases" threads, which usually confuses me, especially considering how there's also a "recent purchases" thread in every section ("Sega/Nintendo/Sony/etc. related purchases"). Outside those, we do have a few rare duplicates, like, right now, the 2 threads about Mighty No 9, but this is rare.

Because sometimes they are already there.
