I was trying not to biased, so I included shows that I wouldn't watch myself like Pokémon or Yu-Gi-Oh!, but I wanted to be inclusive.
I also admit I'm not very knowledgeable on the subject, but I always try to learn a little bit of culture on different things, and that's why I wanted to dive into making this list.

I didn't want to include movies, just TV shows, that's why I didn't mention Ghost In The Shell either. The Ghost in the Shell tv show ( GitS: Stand Alone Complex) is really good, tough. EDIT: Two really good ones that I just remembered: Samurai Champloo (by the same director from Cowboy Bebop and very similar, albeit in a samurai setting) and Paranoia Agent (by the director from Paprika, Perfect Blue, Tokyo Godfathers etc.). |

The Ghost in the Shell tv show ( GitS: Stand Alone Complex) is really good, tough. I think Balder mentioned it, I really want to see it, I'm going to look it up, hopefully they'll put it on Prime, Netflix, or Hulu. The movie is definitely essential, so I imagine the TV show will be quality too. |

Samurai Champloo is very popular. I believe I heard about it before. It looks like something I'm going to like a lot. If the other ones are by the same director, I imagine they are solid too. Thanks for the recommendation. Anime is one of those things that have so much abundance of quality it can be overwhelming. |

I remember watching Hamtaro whenever I visited a JUSCO in Japan (now known as ÆON). I wasn't exactly sure what was being said on the big screens, but I found it hilarious.
