centipede - Not really, didn't even know about it until a few years ago. Very interesting story there. I had already seen the video, it's very informative and Stop Skeletons from Fighting is always a great channel, by the way. I think the only point that every video like this usually miss is what was Tectoy's actual position in Brazil since the 2000s - all these videos talk about Mega Drive/Master System consoles being sold even nowadays and getting constant rereleases, but it's not like they're competing with current consoles or anything - they occupy the exact same space as the AtGames' Genesis or Atari Flashback consoles in the US, so they are marketed specifically as either nostalgic plug&play consoles for older people or targeted at grandmas that want to buy a cheap video game gift for their grandchildren. Stuff like the Zeebo is always seen in cheap stores, living together with knock-off plug&play consoles like the Polystation. It's still interesting how Tectoy was trying to create a bridge between these knock-offs and the "real" stuff (a cheap plug&play but with official ports), too bad that I think there never really was a market for it. Maybe a good comparison of what they were trying to do would be the Ouya, which also failed terribly, or the still unreleased Amico?
