I used to love this film because it glorifies the good old days where ironically certain male to female roles were seem without judgement before the 2016 feminism changed the way to define these once natural interactions.
I also loved the flipping the script from beginning to end between the characters, and the excellent one liners like "how does it feel?" that I used to enjoy as an inside joke whenever I was living up the single life. It is basically the more adult version of She's All That teen movie.
The controversy is that nowadays it would be impossible to make a film like this without portraying these characters as straight up psychopaths, and it wouldn't surprise me if someone seeing this film in today's environment would already think of this film with that light.
