So I didn't upgrade past the "Playstation Plus Essential" tier (ie. the old PS+), but I was checking which older games were available on the other tiers, and I noticed Wild Arms was available for me to download.
Seems this has been posted elsewhere, but I guess since I bought it digitally back on the PS3 (and PSP/Vita) under the classics line, it's available as a PS4/PS5 download with some of the nice extra features like save states/rewind.
It doesn't seem to apply to all old Playstation Classics games though, as I have Resident Evil: Director's Cut on my PS3 under the 'Classics' line, and it still requires the PS+ Premium upgrade. Still, I'll make sure to keep an eye out for other PS1/PS2/PSP releases as they come out.

Honestly the whole you don't own anything but you are happier bothers me about nowadays industries propositions, however you can't deny how convenient they are in modern times. To be fair, if I didn't own that many games already I would likely jump on those higher tier packages.

I prefer to just get the old PS2 discs and play them with PCSX2 because the CRT shaders are great, and you can bump up the saturation (which a lot of games from that era sorely need). Getting too many things digitally is weird and should never feel natural.
As for PS1, Duckstation is probabably the greatest emu ever created as it fixes the polygon wobble while bumping the resolution to 2k/4k/8k. Sony no doubt uses the code from these emulators for their own official software emulation, though, so they'll probably implement it soon if they haven't already.
Though I will say their new PS+ Extra package is very enticing. Their sale just ended, but just skimming through it there's about 100 games I'd want to try out so it works out to less than $1 per game for me at 30% off.

Also - I wish I could remember what my old Yahoo email account was that I used to sign up with PSN a decade ago. Luckily I didn't buy too many games, but that, plus my old PS+ virtual stash is gone forever.
