This is something I have been experiencing a lot lately.
Before I got my Super Nintendo on December 1994, I did play some NES games on houses of friends, and also some Super Nintendo titles too, not to mention they will take me to the arcades often, so I obviously have a lot of nostalgia for all those games.
I did get to enjoy a lot of Super Nintendo titles once I had one because it was easy to exchange them with friends for a weekend, and this was always a reliable way to have access to a much bigger SNES library.
By the time I got a Nintendo 64 on December 1998 I was in a different place and didn't have those advantages anymore, so every game I wanted to play had to be bought.
Then by the time the GameCube and the PS2 were around I was big enough to help with some work and get some money to buy games, which became important since arcades started dying out after the massive success of Marvel Vs. Capcom 2 and Dance Dance Revolution.
However many of the older games I played, I didn't really played them until I became an adult and wanted to try them.
Half way through 2005 I stopped playing video games altogether, and didn't really play again until the last half of 2013 when I started becoming interested in playing with some frequency again.
This is the time when all the rediscover of older games happened, so now 9 years later, some of those newly discovered older games also feel a bit nostalgic, like many of the Neo Geo's titles such as:
- Magician Lord
- Shock Troopers
- Pulstar
- Prehistoric Isle 2
- Strikers 1945 Plus
- Aero Fighters 2
- Aero Fighters 3
- Last Resort
- Zed Blade
- Ironclad
- Andro Dunos
- Ghost Pilots
- Blazing Star
- Double Dragon (VI)
- Galaxy Fight
- Twinkle Star Sprites
- Waku Waku 7
- Windjammer
- Rage Of The Dragons
- Matrimelee
- Super Sidekicks
- Super Sidekicks 2
- Super Sidekicks 3, etc.,
but also older arcade games I discovered because of Mark like:
- Frenzy

- Gyruss
- Black Widow
- Asteroids Deluxe
- Galaxian
- Blaster
- Super Breakout
- Yars' Revenge
- Stargate
- Super Cobra
- Space Duel
- Gravitar, etc.,
and many other arcade games I end up loving as well like:
- Mars Matrix
- Giga Wing
- Giga Wing 2
- Under Defeat
- Zero Gunner
- Cannon Spike
- In The Hunt
- Radirgy
- Radirgy Noa
- Karous

- Salamander 2
- Grind Stormer

It is honestly amazing how great it is to build nostalgia around games, and be able to keep enjoying them down the line, it is a very similar experience to music in that regard.
Have you guys noticed this? It is just one of those things you can always rely on to enjoy pass games in the future.
