Just a fantasy, I would imagine the copyright fees for such a game would be a nightmare.
Although if I had the ability to program it myself I would happily do a version of those characters without having them to be them specifically.

OBSCURE GAME CHARACTER BATTLE ROYALE
Featuring obscure names like:
Normy's Babe-orama
The Otiphants
Chuck D Head
Dynamite Ducks
Green Dog
Psycho Fox
Mighty Bomb Jack
The Magician Lord
The Dopefish
Pen Pen
Digger T Rock
(needs moar...)

Magician Lord is so nostalgic to me at this point for playing it on the PS3, that sometimes I forget he is kind of obscure too from the Neo Geo era.

I've been meaning to say that this is one of the stupidest ideas for a video game, let alone a fighting game, that I have ever read in my life. Stratogustav is the human embodiment of artistic bankruptcy. I blame him for the creative decline of the fighting game genre.
A game like this actually was released years back (James and Mike reviewed it on J&M Mondays), it was a crossover fighting game about the horror movie genre featuring characters like Chucky, Jason, Freddy Krueger, etc. But nobody within the hardcore fighting game community bothered with it because it was so obviously just cashing in on the nostalgia people had for the 80s horror genre and didn't have any real value whatsoever as a tournament fighter. It was a joke in that regard.
Crossover fighting games are one of the biggest problems ruining the modern day fighting game genre. It's partially what killed once-great fighter series like Smash Bros and Soul Calibur. As an OG hardcore fighting game fan I would NEVER support garbage like this.

I was glad MK11 targeted me with Rambo, RoboCop, and Terminator. MK10 targeted me with Alien, Predator, and Leatherface, even MK9 had Freddy. If guys like me are the ones to blame for the Turtles being in Injustice 2, and the Power Rangers having their own game, that's fine by me. You have to remember I come from a time when Raiden was a reference to Big Trouble In Little China, Guile was Val Killer from Top Gun, Johnny Cage was Jean Claude Van Damme, and there were more Bruce Lee characters than you can count. This isn't new, Contra was Alien, Stallone, and Schwarzenegger, it had Predator, and Rush'N Attack had Rambo, so did Guerilla War, and those were before my time. Heck I was pleased when we entered the Marvel Super Heroes era in Capcom fighters where the X-Men were highly represented. It is just the nature of things to have popular culture iconic figures represented. I'm pretty sure as time goes by you may have your Ben 10, and Teen Titans represented, it is what it is.

BTW I think the crossover game Melee was referring to was MUGEN. You can add whatever characters you want, like the AVGN or Eggman.

No no, I wasn't referring to Mugen. I'm thinking of this modern, horror-themed 2D fighting game with digitized sprites of famous 80s slasher villains like Freddy Kruger, Jason, Chucky, Pinhead, Candyman, as well as 80s movie monsters like Pumkinhead. Its visual style was very Mortal Kombat inspired. I vividly remember watching a James & Mike Mondays episode on it, but even after thoroughly scouring the official Cinemassacre J&M Mondays playlist a few days ago, I wasn't able to find it. Maybe the episode got deleted or something who knows. So I still can't remember the identity of this game. I know for sure it's a modern fighting game, though not AAA, very indy in nature. I remember them saying it was released in or around 2011 or the early 2010s to make a more general guess. I'm not even sure if it was an official digital release or a mod. Mugen is cool because it's a fan mod that puts hidden-gem VG anime characters like Marina Lightyears in the roaster. It's probably the only way we'll ever see underrated Treasure characters like Marina Lightyears in a fighting game. THAT matters to me. By comparison, Jason Vorhees or Robocop in the recent Mortal Kombat doesn't matter to me at all. stratogustav Please let the real artists do the thinking here. Making good quality character designs requires a high level of carful subtly; in not, you get garbage like Fei Long AKA Bruce Lee, who felt like literal plagiarism. I'm surprised there weren't any lawsuits like when Pixar put Evel Knievel's likeness in Toy Story.

Do you often get moments of brainstorming games? Not anymore, but for a while I did want certain things that weren't there m, like Gran Theft Auto VR, and a more robust SIMs architecture simulator.
