Welcome to my brand new series of threads, the "dystopian series", where I will be discussing various aspects of the dystopian future we live in. Of course, no dystopian discussion would be complete without bringing up the administration that started it all and its timeline: the George W. Bush era.2000-2008 Under George W. Bush's tenure as president of the United States of America, America invaded the Middle East, launched a global war on jihadist extremism, outlawed the electric car, and conspired with the oil industry to cover up the anthropologic impact on climate change. What do you guys have to say about the Bush era? What memories do you have of it? How dystopian was the Bush era on a scale of 1-5? Discuss!

To me it was a soft Obama era, the only difference is that mainstream media did not do as much cover up as they did with Obama and his obsession with bombing overseas. They actually allowed some criticism because Republican equals conservative, and there is this push to demonize anything that makes people remember religion.
The only exception was when they wanted to invade Iraq, which was a bipartisan decision in the Bush era, in which the media did join them equally to promote that decision.
They actually tried to do that again with Syria under Obama, but the people didn't buy it that time, so Obama couldn't send the troops in the same way, however he still bombed the shit out of Syria, and we are still occupying a 3rd of the country, at least the parts with oil, while subsidizing the local terrorist groups too.
Obama bombed more countries than Syria, like Yemen, Pakistan, Iraq, Afghanistan, Somalia, killing an average rate of 90% of civilians on each bombing, and he also organized some coups in Libya and Ukraine. The Ukraine coup was the one that led to the war we have today because it substituted the pro Russian government they had in Ukraine with the pro American government we see nowadays.
What they wanted to do is provoque Putin into a war by shelling people in the Donbas area for many years until he wanted to get in, while threatening him with Ukraine joining NATO. That would put Putin in a situation where he had to invade and that would allow U.S. to find an excuse to make Europe energy depending of U.S. as opposed of Russia, which is why those pipes blew up on the Nordstrom 2.
So to me there is no difference between Bush, Obama, and Biden. If Hilary was elected this situation would had happened earlier. It is the exact same people, which is why you see Adam Kissinger and Liz Cheney going after Trump too.
Under Trump U.S. did a lot of the same things, they just couldn't do it as much because Trump was hard to manipulate, but they had enough Troy Horses in his government to get away with maintaining many of these things. This is why they hate him so much because their plans become more difficult when he is in office.
At first they thought it was going to be easy to persuade Trump, but soon they realized that if they wanted to get all these things done they needed someone like Biden, so they managed to come up with enough votes to put him in, just like they did on both Bush elections.
One thing I can say good about Bush is that he allowed Wall Street to go broke, it gave them the freedom to fuck up. Sadly they didn't learn from that experience because Obama who was in bed with them bailed them out with the taxpayer money.
Also with Bush big pharma had a lot of power but not as much as they gained with Obama. Just look what they did with Purdue, killing half of million of Americans during Obama's opioid crisis. Not to mention all the gain of function funding that led to the pandemic and those pharmaceutical companies becoming exceedingly rich, since they were already working on the vaccines years before it started. The same gain of function they are still funding today.
By the way, Bush did not start anything as you claim. These things have been happening all throughout since 1948, and during the Cold War. Just look at all the Proxy Wars that happened in that era. This process is ancient.

Ah, I found it. My hypothesis was correct. You are stuck in the 2006 era.
